Chapter 14

Yewon runs to grab him from the ground, and with Namjoon help, they both carried him onto the bed. 

Jungkook open his eyes slightly and notice that Yewon was near him, so he push her away with the little strength that he had. 

Jungkook: "Go."

Yewon: "Namjoon, call the imperial doctor! Hurry."

Namjoon run to tell the servants to bring the imperial doctor as soon as possible and the news that the 14th prince was injured was force to be a secret.

Yewon: "How is the 14th prince?"

Imperial doctor: "He is very weak and have lost much blood, I am afraid that..."

Yewon: "Afraid of what?"

Imperial doctor: "I am afraid that he may not make it out alive by the end of this week."

Yewon: "Is there any other way? You are the imperial doctor! You should know, there must be another way."

Imperial doctor: "In the big forest where the wolves run around, there is a herb that may help him.

Namjoon: "The big forest! No one ever comes out alive after entering the big forest!"

Imperial doctor: "There is no other option."

He open the drawing he has in his doctor journal and gave it to her, "This is the only thing that can help recover his strength but I am afraid that you can not receive it. The wolves hunger for human flesh and there are a few of them."

Yewon: "Are you saying that his herb will be able to help the 14th prince?"

Imperial doctor: "I am sure of it, however... this task is..."

She rips out the page of the picture and kept it within her sleeve. 

Yewon: "I will get the herb."

Namjoon: "Are you crazy? I will go."

Yewon: "I do not wish for anyone to die because of me. I will save you and I will save Jungkook."

She turn to the imperial doctor, "Promise me that you will keep Jungkook alive until I come back with the herb."

Imperial doctor: "It is my job princess, but princess... what if you-"

Yewon: "I will return with the herb."

Imperial doctor: "Then before you go, take this. When you enter the big forest, you must put it on yourself and the smell will drive the wolves away but it will only work for a while. You must get it and leave as soon as possible."

Yewon took the jar and run out the chamber door to get ready for the journey. When she enter her room, Eunbi was tidying up the room for her.

Eunbi: "Princess!"

Yewon: "Eunbi, I will have to go a long journey. Can you go ask for a sword along with a bow and arrows."

Eunbi: "Princess, where are you going?"

Yewon: "I have something I must do, so please go grab me that. If anyone ask you why, say that the 5th prince had ask for it."

Eunbi: "But-"

Yewon: "Go."

Eunbi quickly left the chamber while Yewon start changing her outfit. She rather wear a tight man outfit than a woman outfit, she put her bun into a high bun and tie with the embroidered cloth that Seokjin have gotten her. When Eunbi came back, she was holding a sword and a bow with many arrows.

Yewon grab onto the stuff and hug Eunbi before leaving, "Eunbi, can you please take care of Jungkook while I am gone? Please make sure he is fine by the time I come back, I have many things to repay him for."

Eunbi: "You must come back well."

Yewon: "I will come back before the last day of this week, exactly five days."

Eunbi: "Be safe."

It was during midnight when Yewon have fully got out of the Westland, the big forest is far away out of the Westland. Yewon, knowing that it will take another half day, she did not stop and continue on riding towards the big forest; she was on a time limit.

She finally stop at an area just before entering the big forest around the evening, she decided to rest there and will enter the big forest in the morning when the wolves are not active yet. 

She sit near the fire and look into the night sky, "Seokjin, please protect me to be able to receive the herb. Then I will follow you."

It was early in the morning when Yewon enter the big forest without her horse, she was careful because although it was morning, there will be at least one or two wolves who are still roaming around. 

Yewon: "Where can this herb be?"

She open the drawing one more time and look carefully at the detail the herb have, she then continues to look around but every step trail she takes, she will tie it with a vine that she found nearby in case she gets lost.

It was getting late, and Yewon have no yet found the herb anywhere. She was getting worried because she knew that Jungkook was on a time limit. All she can think was about saving him even if she must risk everything for him, she did not know why she was feeling this way but she just did not want him to die. 

Then she heard a few sticks breaking from behind her and she turn, and there it was looking right at her. He was twice her size, with saliva dripping from his mouth, and he starts walking in circle around her. She quickly grab onto her sword and made sure the tip of the sword was following him. 

The wolf was coming closer to her with his snarling teeth and then leap towards her, she stumble down to the ground from avoiding the jump then pick herself back up. She hold her sword up high and the wolf attempts to leap again, when he leaps, Yewon tries to avoid it again but he bit onto her arm causing Yewon to drop her sword. He did not let go of his grip until Yewon took out a knife and stab him in the eye, he flick her and she fell tumbling down the slanted ground.

Yewon was stumbling down until she reach the solid bottom, she cough out blood that was within her system and attempts to rise herself but failed to do so. As she lay there, she remembers the time when Jungkook took her to watch the lanterns and all the time her tried for her love. 

Yewon: "I regret... I regret so much."
