Chapter 19

It has been a week since Yewon was in a short coma because the imperial had made sure she drinks a herb that will not wake her up in order for her to regain her strength and rest with no stress.

Yewon open her eyes to a room full with light colors, she help herself up to sit up straight and she look around the room. 

The 9th princess came and saw her awake, "You are awake, 13th princess. The imperial doctor has said you will wake up tomorrow, but you are already awake. I am glad."

Yewon: "Is this-"

Sojung: "Before you ask or say anything, I want you to drink your medicine first."

She went to sit on the bed with Yewon and help Yewon drink her medicine. 

Yewon: "Thank you, 9th princess."

Sojung: "How are you feeling?"

Yewon: "I am feeling fine, but where is this?"

Sojung: "You are in the west of the Kingdom which is where I am located, this is my place."

Yewon: "Why am I here?"

Sojung: "The 5th prince had brought you here, he told me to take care of you."

Yewon: "I am sorry."

Sojung smiles and look away from her, "You do not need to feel sorry, I know that he has good feelings toward you."

Yewon grab onto her hand and made her turn to her, "9th princess, I do not have any feelings toward the 5th prince. I have someone I love, although he is not in this world... the only person I will love is him."

Sojung: "And who is this person?"

Yewon lets go of her hand and put it down, she sighs, "He was someone who believed me, trusted me, and had taught me many things. We had made a promise to always be there for each other but because I was a clueless princess, his family and even himself...had died."

Yewon reaches inside her clothing to find that the embroidered cloth was no longer there, she panic. The cloth was wrapping the broken hairpin that Jungkook got her, she did not want to lose both.

Yewon: "My cloth...my hairpin... where is it?"

She starts searching under the pillow and blanket to find it but she can not find it.

Sojung: "Is this what you are looking for?"

Yewon saw the cloth in her hands and she grabs it from her while thanking her for taking care of it, she opens it and the broken hairpin was still there; she held the cloth and the hairpin within her heart. 

Sojung: "These must be really precious to you."

Yewon: "One was from the person I love the most and the other one was from the person I hurt the most. They both love me deeply, and because of that love... they both were hurt."

Sojung: "13th princess, may I ask who is the person that is in your heart?"

Yewon: "Of course it is the person I love the most."

Sojung stands up and walk towards the window, she open the window and smell the fresh air that was brought inside. 

Sojung: "Do you love the 13th prince?"

Yewon: "I..."

She hesitant and look at the broken hairpin and then back at the cloth.

Sojung smiles, "Can I ask why you hesitated if you clearly know who the person in your heart is?"

Yewon: "I.. love only one person..."

Sojung: "The 13th prince is getting marry to the 15th princess of the Southland. The King of the Southland had given many request to the 13th prince."

Yewon rises her head towards Sojung, "Wha-what did you just say?"

Sojung: "The King of the Southland have requested that the 13th prince to personally go betroth the 15th princess of Southland at her homeland. Not only that, but because the King of the Southland loves his youngest daughter the 15th princess, he had requested that the 13th prince will only take the 15th princess as his only wife until death."

The colors of Yewon face begin to fade away and her eyes begin to panic, "But..but.."

Sojung: "The King of the Southland have the strongest army base and royal father wants the strongest alliance."

Yewon: "Jungkook would not..."

Sojung: "He accepted the decree and all the request, he will leave in the next following month."

Everything happened so quick and that in a blink of an eye, almost a year have almost pass by. In the last few months, she was the wife of the 13th prince and after those months, she was his servant. And now, she was no one to him. 

Yewon look at the hairpin and her tears came dropping, she held it tight to her heart. 

Sojung: "The 13th prince... he had order you to be sent back to the Eastland during the time when he-"

Yewon smiles weakly while wiping her tears, "I deserve this..."

Sojung turns to her and went to grab onto her shoulders: "It is not too late to turn back. He is still waiting for you to return."

Yewon: "It is too late to turn back. I had hurt him too much that for the first time, I am glad that he had decided to hurt me too. We are even now... I can leave happily."

Sojung: "Yewon..."

Sojung wipes her tears that fell because of Yewon and she hug her tightly because she knew that Yewon was in love with the 13th prince. She knew that no matter what she says, the guilt of killing her best friend was too strong for Yewon to just brush away. It was engraved in her heart that causes her to never be happy and causes her to believe she was in love with Seokjin.

After a few week of regaining her strength, she went to go see Jungkook with a request. 

Jungkook: "I have let you go, why are you here?"

When he saw her again, he was happy that she looks better and well off without him. 

Yewon went onto her knees in front of him, "I, the 13th princess had became your wife for 3 months and became your servant for 3 months. It has been half a year that I have spent my time with you, so I beg the 13th prince to allow me to travel with you safely to the Southland. And after that, I... am going to leave. Please grant me one last wish."
