Chapter 16

Jungkook was sitting at his table in his room with Yewon standing at his side, he drink his cup of tea and ignore her for a while. 

Yewon: "Do you need anything else 14th prince?"

Jungkook did not answer her and continue to drink his tea. 

Yewon: "Then I will leave you be."

As she walks out, Jungkook mutter a few words, "Why? Why are you planning to hurt me still?"

Yewon stops but continue to face the door, "I am not planning to hurt you, I am doing this to protect both nation."

Jungkook: "Protect the nation? If you really wanted to protect the nation, you would of never plan to escape with my 5th brother."

Yewon: "14th prince, you and I are not meant to be."

Jungkook slam the table and stands up to grab her hand tightly, there was anger in his eyes but never hatred. He pulls her in and said, "I wanted us to be, so I tried! Now, we can not go back."

While saying that he pushes her to the ground and walk away, when he walked away, Yewon's heart was in pain. She did not understand why her heart was in pain or why she had wanted Jungkook to walk back towards her. She continue to deny her feelings and believed that she was still strongly in love with Seokjin.

Yewon was cleaning 14th prince's clothes when Eunbi came rushing towards her. 

Eunbi: "Princess, let me do it."

Yewon: "It is okay, I am no longer a princess. I can do this much."

Eunbi: "You are still my princess. Let me do it."

Eunbi took the clothes and start to clean it and Yewon just simply look at her. 

Yewon: "I heard that the 5th prince had decided to take you in."

Eunbi: "For the sake of you."

Yewon: "You and him treat me well, I am sorry that I have brought problems to both of you."

Eunbi: "Princess, I see you as a sister. I will never blame you. But I have something to tell you."

Yewon: "What is it?"

Eunbi: "After the 5th prince marriage tomorrow, the King is going to put up a decree for the 14th prince to marry the princess of the Southland."

Yewon heart just drop completely, "Already?"

Eunbi: "There was a rumor saying that the 14th prince and the 15th princess of the Southland have been friends since young and they promise to marry each other. However, the King force Jungkook to marry you and it had cause problem to arise between the South and the West land."

Yewon then remembers the promise she made to Seokjin to be with him no matter where he goes and she gazes down at the floor. 

Eunbi: "Princess... but they are just rumor, it is true that they were friends since young but they may not..."

Yewon: "A promise is meant to not be broken. If they had made the promise, they will keep it. And soon, I will keep mine as well."

Eunbi: "Oh? You promise someone?"

Yewon: "Are you done? Let me help you so we can finish quickly."

It was around night time when the stars fill the sky again, and Yewon sit in the garden watching the sky. Namjoon enters the garden and walk to her when he sees her alone. 

Namjoon: "You once said that the flower on the cherry blossom tree will wither but grow back again on the same tree, do you remember?"

Yewon knew the voice so she did not turn around to look at him.

Yewon: "I remember."

Namjoon: "So no matter what I do, you will not come and grow with me."

Yewon: "I knew from the start, your feeling towards me. But I can not accept your feelings and for that I am sorry."

Namjoon: "You are smart, Yewon. Your right, I have good feelings toward you. I wanted to beg the king to make you my wife instead after my 14th brother stip you down but, I knew that you would not like it."

Yewon smiles slightly while letting a little laugh out, "You had always thought about me."

Namjoon: "I do not wish to force you but Seokjin is dead. I want you to move on."

Yewon: "He was never dead inside my heart. He was someone who came to my life randomly and became my first love."

Namjoon: "Tomorrow is my wedding and also the end..."

Yewon: "There will be one day where she will make you laugh and smile like how I did. She will eventually come into your heart and make it flutter, making you forget all your happiness that you had with me. And the day will come when all her effort makes you fall in love with her so..."

Yewon looks at Namjoon in the eyes

Yewon: "treat her well now and witness her beauty that is within."

Namjoon: "This time, I will really let you go. Every time, I was greedy for your love and became lost. Do not regret losing me, I am the handsome and kind 5th prince."

Yewon: "The 9th princess will treat you well."

Namjoon: "In the end, you do not want to hold on to me. At times, I still remember the day when we fought, it was the happiest day of my life."

Yewon: "It was the first time I smile in this kingdom."

Namjoon: "What a pity, that I will not be the tree that you will grow beautifully on. But I know, that you have flew away from your original tree and landed on a new one."

Yewon: "What do you mean?"

Namjoon: "Like you said, there will be one day where you fall in love with someone who puts all their effort towards you."

Yewon: "I still don't understand..."

Namjoon: "Yewon, you understand everyone in this world but one person you do not understand is yourself."

Yewon shifts her eyes away from Namjoon and look at her hands. 

Namjoon: "Yewon, I will always be your friend. When you are going through hard times or need me, you can always come find me. You will never walk alone."

Yewon: "I will always be here for you as well, 5th prince."

Namjoon walks away from her and then stand alone near a pond while talking thinking to himself, 

"In the end, you still let me go. At times, I wonder how happy I would be if I had accepted the marriage proposal with you rather than declining it. I regret so much but I just want you to be happy, I know that if I was to force you to stay with me then the beauty in the flower will only wither away. I had hope that one day, you will be sword fighting with me again but now I know, that it will never happen....however, if you ever need me one day, come to me and I will always help you... not as a lover but as a friend that you wanted me to be."
