Chapter 39

The war have cause much destruction to the main city as well as to the kingdom. There were blood everywhere and no one was winning or fighting. Many people were dead and Jungkook stand there with Yerin still as a hostage. He stand there and look at the blood that spill over his kingdom, "At this point, how can I stop?"

Namjoon came directly at Jungkook with his sword, Jungkook notice it and his bow from the guard and point the arrow at Namjoon. 

Namjoon stops halfway and look at Jungkook as he lower the swords down. 

Namjoon: "Jungkook, stop this war!"

Jungkook: "Do you wish to stop me?"

Namjoon: "Jungkook-"

Jungkook: "You once elope with my wife and attempt to take her away from me, and now you are in my path of getting revenge. For sure, in this life... you are the barrier that I must climb over."

He took a step closer and Jungkook release the arrow and hit Namjoon in the shoulder, he stumbles but kept his ground. 

Jungkook grab another arrow and direct it at him again, "I will not miss this time if you continue to stand with them."

Namjoon: "Your brother is wrong... I am wrong so please... stop this war! We, together, can punish him lawfully."

Jungkook: "The law does not punish kings but it is the kings themselves that can punish each other."

Jungkook: "You were once my brother, I do not wish to kill you. So get out of the way!"

Namjoon: "I.will.not."

Jungkook: "You made your decision."

Namjoon: "If my death will make you come back to your senses, then so be it!"

Jungkook pull the string of the bow and release the arrow, Namjoon drop his sword and closes his eyes but felt nothing. He opens his eyes and someone was in front of him, she took the arrow. 

Namjoon: "SOJUNG!"

Sojung fell down onto Namjoon arms and he lower himself along with the body. 

Namjoon: "Why did you come back? I told you to leave!"

Sojung: "You fool. Your plan-was too noticeable. You think-think I would not of known. You act cold and push me away because you were afraid."

Namjoon: "Sojung ah..."

Sojung: "At least...I can hear you call my name besides the 9th princess."

Namjoon: "Do not leave me."

Sojung: "You told me... to not meet another person like you. But, I never regret loving you..."

Namjoon: "No...no......I love you..so do not leave me."

Sojung smiles and touches his face, "I love you...my husband..."

For the first time, she call him something that she had always wanted to call him. They were always restricted to their own titles because there was no love but now, it was the first time and the last time she called him something more than just the 5th prince. 

Her hand fell down but Namjoon caught it before falling down to the ground, he held her hand tightly and look at Jungkook who look directly at the scene. 

Namjoon: "AS THE 5TH PRINCE OF THIS COUNTRY, I COMMAND ALL TO STOP!"

No one listen, then Jungkook raise his hand and his army came to a stop along with the other army. 

Jungkook: "STOP!"

He then gave his arrow back to the guard that was behind him while grabbing a sword and walk towards Namjoon who was still holding Sojung in his arms. Jungkook came to a stop right in front of him, "I told you... without power...you can never protect those you love."
