Chapter 18

After the event at the pond, Jungkook did not allow anyone to enter his royal chamber. 

Yewon: "14th prince, I have come to prepare your night gown."

Jungkook did not answer her for a while then he comes and open the door, he stands on the doorstep and only look down. 

Jungkook: "Guards."

Guard 1: "Yes, 14th prince?"

Jungkook: "From now on, I give permission for Princess Yewon to receive her title back so bring the Princess to the 5th prince's chambers with no harm. Find me a new servant to prepare my room from now on either it be morning or night."

Guard 1: "I will do as you say."

Yewon: "14th prince..."

He knew that he can not have her and he knew that no matter how much he tries to make her hate him or love him, her heart will always be with the 5th prince; nothing will change. He is willing to let her go now, because the more he hold on to her... he will hurt her and it will cause him to hurt more. When the 10th prince grab onto Yewon, he was not able to do anything to protect her so letting her go was the best answer.

Jungkook then looks directly at Yewon, "I am willing to lose and let you go this time. Although you did not love me, you were once my wife. Be happy with the 5th prince, he will treat you well."

After saying that, he closes the door of the chamber and Yewon drops the plate that contain the night gown. 

Yewon: "14th prince! Please do not do this! 14th prince!"

The guard came to grab her by the arm and pull her away from the chamber door politely. 

Guard: "I apologize Princess, but I can not disobey the 14th prince's words."

Yewon pushes the guard away and runs to kneel in front of Jungkook's chamber.

Yewon: "I have stated to be your servant to protect my nation, I will do as I say. Please 14th prince go back on his words."

Jungkook did not answer, he sits in front of the chamber covering his mouth while tears fall down his face; he cries silently. He misunderstood that Yewon was only willing to be his servant to protect the 5th prince. If rumors spread that the 5th prince had took his brother's wife then the reputation of the 5th prince will be damage. He believed they love each other, and because they love each other, he will let them go even if it hurts him to do so. 

Yewon: "Even if I have to kneel here until you allow me to be your servant again, I will." 

The guard, considering she was a princess again, can not touch her again or force her to be remove.

It was morning when a new servant was sent to the 14th prince's chambers to fix his clothing and his bed. 

Yewon continues to kneel out of the chamber door, waiting for Jungkook's one word for her to be his servant again. At times while kneeling, she thought as to why she was not able to leave in order to see Seokjin again but she did not know at the time that the answer was deeply hidden in the corner of her heart.

 She hate herself for not being able to keep the promise to Seokjin and that she kept pushing it back, just for one more time, she want to see him smile happily again like that night of the lantern.

She had hurt him the most and in her heart, she wants him to be the happiest which is why she did not want to leave him before seeing him like how he was when they first met.

Jungkook came out of the room and his eyes met with Yewon, he ignore it and walk pass her.

Yewon: "14th prince..."

For the whole night, she was kneeling and waiting for him to come out and it had decrease her stamina completely. But even when he walks pass her, she continues to kneel until he comes back.

Each time the 14th prince came back to his room, he will not look at her and act as if she was not there and it hurt Yewon the most when he walks pass her. 

It had already been exactly two days, and she was still kneeling outside of his chamber door, waiting and continue waiting for him to allow her to be his servant again.

(3rd Day)

Jungkook came out of his chamber with another servant by his side and, for the first time within the three days, he glance at Yewon.

Yewon: "14th prince...please...take back your orders."

Jungkook glance quickly and then away from her, he starts walking passing her again and she grab onto his outfit. He stand still for a quick second and then pull away from her, her hand slips away. 

Yewon's eyes closes with the single tear falling from her eyes, and she fell onto the ground with a loud thump. 

Namjoon: "YEWON!"

Jungkook stops in his track and turn around quickly but he saw Namjoon holding on to her in his arms.

He wanted to run to her and tell her that he had forgiven her for everything and he was willing to love her again despite knowing that she does not love him. But the other side of his heart hate the fact that she was willing to be his servant in order to save the 5th prince's reputation of taking his brother's wife. 

While in Namjoon's arm, Yewon open her eyes to look for Jungkook and she sees him standing a few steps away. She lift her hand slightly towards him but Jungkook turn his back coldly, then Yewon closes her eyes and her hand drops onto the ground.

Jungkook went to see the King and his steps were slow and painful, he knew that he was going to regret taking in this decision but he can not escape anymore. 

King: "Why have you come 14th prince?"

Jungkook went onto his knees, "I accept the decree to marry the 15th princess of the Southland. And as the King of the Southland had requested, I will depart next month to personally bring the gifts and bring my fiancé home for the wedding."
