"Are you ready to go now, Miss?" The chauffeur's voice interrupted the silence lingering in the estate, his brown eyes looking towards the blonde lady standing before several guards guarding the main entrance she had just walked out from.
It seemed his request was successfully delivered to see the doctor nodding her head quickly in response, her lips curving in a smile as bright as her flowery dress. The lady began to move only to be stopped by the sound of a different car driving into the property, making both Maria and the chauffeur stop in place to turn their gazes towards it.
The vehicle that entered the driveway was a flashy white limo, and it looked familiar to her narrowed blue eyes. Without a doubt, she identified it as the vehicle Jayden had used in playing his undercover kidnapping stunt from the previous night.
It seemed the young master was back from the hospital, and she was curious to validate this suspicion. Her chin raised above the convertible, her eyes peeping at the stretchy car, watching it get opened by a bodyguard, and a particular somebody alighted from inside the vehicle with quickness and grace.
And that particular somebody happened to be none other than Jayden, the early morning suns hitting his golden hair, his beauteous face glowing like a brilliant halo beneath its beams. Lowering her gaze slightly, the sight of his moistened lips immediately returned memories from the previous night; the way his hands caressed her face while those same lips tasted hers.
Her fingers unconsciously began to tap against her thigh when she felt her face burn with embarrassment. How was she going to face him after all that? That whole night still felt unreal to her, but seeing him reminds her everything really happened.
His brown eyes caught her stare all of a sudden, taking her off-guard. Her breath stopped, fluttering her lashes excessively as their gazes remained locked in place. And it took every ounce of her power to turn her face away and rush into the car prepared by the chauffeur.
Her hand trembled slightly as she aimed to close the door, wanting to avoid any form of confrontation with the man until her mind was calm enough to deal with the situation. Pushing the door closer to herself, its handle got seized by someone else, refusing to let her shut the car, with the other person's hand pulling her out of the vehicle.
Staggering slightly to maintain her balance, she slowly looked up at the man holding her captive; Jayden Stanley. What was the odd of it being a different person?
"Why did you push me into the swimming pool? You had the motive to murder me from the start, right?" He immediately fired, as though he had been saving the questions all night, his words laced with irritation.
Maria's brows jumped at the acquisition, feeling her palm grow sweaty under his grasp. "Well, good morning to you too..." She muttered hesitantly and his lips formed a snarl at her smart act of dodging his questions.
Jayden darted his eyes quickly to the car parked beside them and returned them back to the doctor bending her head slightly. "Where do you think you are going?" He interrogated her once more in a voice that could cut steel.
Maria swallowed her tongue, feeling her stomach clench into a ball. "Home..." Wasn't it obvious? There was Eric guy and she already overstayed her welcome in his home.
"Home? You almost killed me. Why aren't you locked up and getting ready for a long vacation behind bars?" He asked again with a glare that made her feel like an intruder walking around his property.
She knew there was no point in arguing with him and that she was definitely guilty about what happened, but she couldn't keep her tongue from uttering something back, especially when he didn't seem to acknowledge his own faults. "Oh please, give me a break, it was an accident." Why was he trying to make her look like a victim or sort? He was actually the starter cause of what befell him. "You caused this you know. I wouldn't have pushed you into the pool if you hadn't kissed me."
