"So what have you been doing?" I asked.
"Well, I've baked ten loaves of bread, painted an awful picture following Bob Ross' tutorial, and wrote three songs."
"Wow, sounds like a blast." I laughed. "I miss squishing your face."
"I miss playing with your hair." he pouted.

"Y/n, when will this be over?" Ruel groaned.
"I don't know bubby, but when it is, we are hanging out."
"Duh."

"What are your songs about?"
"It's really bad so far."
"Come on, it can't be that bad. You're an amazing songwriter. You can make something awful sound amazing."
"Thanks, but that's not really true."
"Yes it is!"

"Okay it's basically about this person in my life that I've missed for months but am finally getting over them."
"Oh," I said. "Is-is it about your ex?"

"Do you want me to answer truthfully?" he asked nervously.
"Never mind. I gotta go do something anyways. I'll talk to you later, Ruel."
"Wait, y/n!"

I hung up on him, but he tried to FaceTime me again. I ignored it, deciding to do something before I get sad.

I grabbed my journal and began to write.

Within the next hour, my phone kept going off.

"What?" I picked up.
"I'm sorry." he pouted.
"For what?"
"I know you're upset about me writing a song about her, but it was just something I felt like would be a good creative output for it."
"I understand, it's fine."

"You're still upset though."
"I'm not upset. It's just that I always thought you would leave me to get back together with her."
"I'd never. You mean the world to me baby."
"I know, but it's just my subconscious mind thinking that."
"Yeah, but you know I'm yours."
"Okay, Mraz."
He laughed.

"I wish I could hug you right now."
"Me too, bub. But soon it'll be over."
"Yeah, I love you."
"I love you too." Ruel smiled.
