"How did you meet Ynoe?" Tanong ko habang pinapanood si Priam na halughugin ang buong kusina ko para sa mga gamit na gagamitin niya.
Mula sa pan na kapit niya, lumipat ang tingin niya sa akin.
"I met him abroad." Sagot niya.
So, tama ang hula ko!
"We attended the same conference at naging magka-partner sa isang presentation. Why are you curious?"
Nangalumbaba ako sa countertop, nag-iisip kung dapat ko bang sabihin sa kanya kung bakit gustong-gusto kong malaman ang buong kwento kung paano at bakit sila nagkakilalang dalawa.
"I was just curious okay. I never imagined seeing you and Ynoe in the same frame. I just know that your attitude is way different from him."
Well, that is really true!
Bukod sa hindi ko inaasahan na magkakilala pala silang dalawa, pakiramdam ko ay hindi magki-click ang ugali ni Priam at Ynoe.
"Why? Ano ba ang pinagkaiba namin ni Ynoe?" Tanong niya habang nagpapainit ng mantika sa pan.
"He's annoying. He really loves it when I am totally pissed at him, he is also soft-hearted but most of the time, he's just a total whore." Sabi ko at pasimpleng natawa.
"What about me?" Tanong niya at saka binaliktad ang pinipritong hotdog.
Yup. That's what he got from my fridge. Makapag-grocery nga bukas at sabado naman.
"Well, you're you." Maikli kong sagot.
"Yun lang?" Tumaas ang kilay niya. I made a face.
"You're always serious." I said.
"I wonder if you could be playful too just like Ynoe." I blurted out.
Not that I don't want him the way he is, I'm just curious on what it would feel like if Priam is playful and irritating too just like Ynoe.
That would be really cute!
Napahagikgik ako sa naisip.
"Why? You don't want me to be this serious?" He asked maliciously, pilya akong ngumiti sa kanya at hindi sumagot sa tanong niya.
"Gaano ba ka-playful si Ynoe sa'yo?"
"He's playful to the point that he'll kiss me on my cheeks." Dire-diretso kong sagot at agad na natauhan nang makitang natigil si Priam sa pagsalin ng hotdog sa plato.
Oh-oh.
"I m-mean he's just play--" bago pa ko matapos sa pagsasalita ko ay mabilis niyang nilapag ang pan sa stove at saka ako hinarap.
"He's kissing you?" Seryoso niyang tanong.
Here we go again.
"Well, sometimes." Sagot ko kahit na madalas ay puro kurot at hampas ang inaabot sa akin ni Ynoe kapag ninanakawan niya ako ng halik sa pisngi.
"And you let him?"
"Yeah. Besides, I don't think that it is wrong. You told me that he's my fiancé so maybe that's the reason why he's got the guts to kiss me on my cheeks." Kinagat ko ang labi ko para mapigilan ang pagsilay ng isang pilyang ngiti.
He moved forward to my spot as he loosened up his tie, I swallowed hard because of it.
I squealed like a pig when he lifted me up from where I was sitting down to the countertop. He craned his neck as he stare at me intensely.
I made a face hoping na matatawa siya pero nanatili ang klase ng kanyang tingin sa akin.
"It's just on the cheeks Priam. No big deal." Wika ko para naman malinawan siya. Pero sa halip na mabawasan ang pagka-seryoso niya ay parang mas lalo ko lang ata siyang ginalit!
