The Matthews arrived at our house just after dinner. They each had two suit cases that Dad and I helped carry inside the house. We placed all the bags into the living room.

"Thank you for letting us stay in your home." Sue smiles at my parents.

"I think we should be thanking you for agreeing to stay here instead of the pack house." Dad smiles. "If not, Logan may have been pulling out his hair at the moment."

"If he is anything like you," Mom adds to his statement, "he'd be sitting outside her window at the pack house every night."

"So, shall we show you to your rooms?" I ask before Mom or Dad can say anything else.

Amanda nods while Sue smiles and says a "Yes, please."

I grab Amanda's larger bag while Dad picks up Sue's. We walk up the stairs. Mom and Dad lead Amanda's parents right, the direction of their room. I lead Amanda to the left, the direction of the kids' rooms. We walk down the hallway before stopping in front of a door.

Amanda raises an eyebrow. "Is there a reason it is right across from your room?"

I shrug. "There is a reason for everything people do, even if they don't know it."

Amanda rolls her eyes. "You're so weird." She steps around me and opens the door. "Wow."

Everything in the room is either black or white. The walls are white. The floor is black. The bed frame, pillows and bed throw are black. The blanket is white. The couch is white. The coffee table is black. The doors are black. The mirror frames are white. The ceiling is white. The mini chandelier is black.

"Yeah," I bring in her suit case and set it by the bed. "Mom went through a phase while decorating this room."

"I can see." She continues to look around.

"Feel free to change anything." I say taking her other bag from her.

She shrugs. "I may just add a color to highlight."

I smile. "Are you an interior designer now?"

She narrows before quickly smirking. "Yes I am."

I laugh. "Okay, well we can go to the store tomorrow after school maybe."

Amanda nods. "Okay. I'm just going to start unpacking."

"Need help?" I offer.

She shakes her head. "No, I'll be fine."

"All right." I walk to her. "I'll just be in my room if you need anything." I peck her on the lips before exiting.

"Oh come on Logan!" Amanda throws her hands above her head.

"No, you need to stay safe." I respond, arms still crossed.

"I was at school yesterday!"

"And I didn't like it."

I am standing in my door way still in a pair of plaid pj pants and a white T shirt. She is still in her pjs, too-a large T shirt, polka-dot shorts, and knee socks. Amanda knocked on my door just before I was going to shower. She wanted to know when she should be ready to leave for school. There is no way I am letting her go to school with a threat to her safety out there!
