Three: Shelby

All weekend, Dad wouldn't let me leave the house without one of my brothers, Carter, or some other warrior with me. I'm not entirely sure why, but I hope it stops soon. Even though it gave me an excuse to be with Carter a lot more- because obviously I went out with no one else- it was still annoying. I couldn't even take a walk in the backyard forest without him. I'm not complaining about spending time with him, but I'm feeling kind of like a prisoner.

Needless to say, I have been staying in often this week. And so have the boys. Although, they have spent their time in the office discussing matters. I feel kind of left out. I mean, I'm part of this family and this pack, too; my dad is the Alpha and my mate is the future Beta. Can't I know what is happening?

"Hey Shelby," Amanda sighs as she plops down on the couch next to me.

"Hey."

"Feeling locked out, too?"

"Yep." I pop the 'p'.

"Will we have to wait until they tell the whole pack?"

"Looks like it."

"Think we could just barge in there and demand to stay and listen." Amanda half jokes.

"I tried that once." Mom walks in. "I didn't end well." She sighs as she sits in the chair.

"Hi, Gwen." Amanda greets. It weird to hear her call Mom by her name. I don't hear it from many people often.

"Hello, Dear. How are you two?" She asks us both.

"Bored!" I groan.

Mom laughs. "Would you girls like to bake some cake?"

I raise a brow questioningly. "Why?"

She shrugs. "If I remember correctly, we had fun when you were little, and we baked."

"Okay, cake it is." I smile.

Then, Amanda, Mom, and I walk into the kitchen and get started to bake from scratch (because a box is not good enough for my mom).
