A/N: Just so you guys know (not that I have had this mentioned to me yet, if it will ever happen) I am not writing in other points of view. This is only in Logan's. I wanted to focus on him and his life and problems.

I wake up full of joy for the day ahead me؟ Take note of the irony mark. I get to spend my Sunday going through paper work. Carter and I will be spending the whole day looking through our files to make sure everyone in the pack a) has one: b) their age and gender are correct: and c) their family information is correct. It is so much fun being the next Alpha؟ I can really understand Daric's fetish on being in my place؟

I manage to pull myself out of bed and get ready for the long day ahead of me. Might as well start now. There are a little less than three hundred wolves in our pack to date that we have to look at. It will do me well to get an early start.

I soon find myself in the large study that we keep all the individual pack members' paper work. I sit at the desk with a few of the boxes pulled out and ready to go.

I am on my forth file when Carter waltzes in. He is wearing jeans and a plain dark blue T-shirt.

"Man, it is too early." He rubs his face and plops down in a chair by the maroon leather couch my parents got when they first moved into the house.

"Yeah, yeah," I swipe my hand. I proceed to shove a stack of files in his face. "Just start working because I do not want to do this all by myself."

After an hour or so, the doorbell rings. Carter stands and walks to the intercom on the wall behind him. He presses the button.

"Who is it?" he almost sings.

"Oo, an intercom, fancy." Amanda's voice pours through the speakers and into my ears causing a smile to bloom on my face. She came. "Wait, this isn't a recording like on Ferris Bueller, is it?"

I laugh to myself as I walk to the intercom. I press the button to talk this time. "Hey, the door is unlocked. Just go up the stairs right in front of the entry way. It's the first door on your right."

I receive a questioning glance from Carter, but he doesn't voice his thoughts. A minute later, Amanda is standing in the doorway. She wears mustard colored skinny jeans, a navy hoodie with a narwhal printed on it, and navy Vans. She has a book in her hand and her hair falls in waves half over one shoulder and half down her back. I look at her more in depth than before and notice her smooth cheeks on stand out of her heart shaped face with a hint of natural pink. Her light green eyes almost look like crystals. Her lips look to be pink rose petals. Her skin has a hint of tan like someone in her linage may have been Hispanic- maybe a grandparent or great grandparent

"Hey Mr. Big Shot." she smiles at me before she spots Carter. "Oo, who is your mocha friend?" She raises her eyebrows a few times. I can't stop the growl that leaves my lips. She laughs and her smile grows. "You are definitely an Alpha, hu?" I blush slightly.

Carter, who was standing with his hands in his pockets and an amused look on his face, holds out a hand for her to slake. "I'm Carter, Logan's Beta."

Amanda takes his hand. "I'm Amanda, Logan's... mate-friend." A thoughtful expression sprouts on her face.

Carter's eyebrows furrow as he looks over at me for help. Before I can open my mouth, though, Amanda starts to explain.

"You see, I'm his mate, but we decided that we should get to know each other a little before I decide what I'm going to do with him and the mate stuff." She sends a smirk my way, most likely because she said she would make the decision, but she is still a slight mystery to me.
