Harry
Cash wanted to come back to LA with me and I couldn't really stop her. I also wanted her with me. I didn't know what past Jared and Cash had but it didn't seem good. I was so reluctant to leave the two of them but Cash didn't tell me to stay and I couldn't read her expression to see if she wanted me to. I should have, the way her body tensed and how she fought against her mother grabbing her should have told me this guy was bad news.
Her grandma was sad we had to leave early but understood how important the situation is. Cash was eerily quiet next to me on the plane ride and on the drive to my house. I felt so open and exposed that someone had broken into my house, I wonder if this is how she felt?
Walking into my house the police were already there. "Security system was shut down, whoever did this was prepared." Who would be coming after me? Surely it was just a robbery. I am rich, not to sound proud but maybe someone wanted to steal things for money? I don't really know what goes through someone's head when they do this type of stuff.
Cash walked around with me as I looked at my house that was wrecked. She was a few paces behind me and I could practically hear the wheels turning in her head. The police asked me to identify if anything was missing but there was nothing that I could tell which made this whole situation more bizarre. I had a complete music studio with equipment worth over $500,000 and nothing was taken. I noticed Cash walk to the bedroom and I followed her watching by the door frame as she removed one of my floor boards. How did she even see that? I didn't even know it was loose.
I heard a big sigh of relief as she picked up a small object and put it in her pocket. "Anything missing for you?" I asked her causing her to jump. She was obviously unaware of my presence.
"Nope, everything is here."
I told the police we didn't find anything missing and they assured me they were working to capture whoever this was. They recommended both Cash and I spend the night somewhere else and let them take pictures and dust for finger prints.
"We can stay with Mitch and Sarah," I suggested as we both wordlessly packed our bags for a night or two.
"No," she immediately replied. "We need to go to a hotel."
"Why?"
"I can't explain right now but please trust me, I promise I will tell you everything," she said with a broken and weak voice.
I didn't question her and we finished packing. I didn't know what to think about what was happening, Cash was hiding something, my house was broken into, I still don't know who the fuck Jared it. I was confused and tired.
Checking into the hotel was an easy process, I made sure the staff knew this was to be kept confidential. I really didn't need the press asking why I was staying in a hotel. Although I'm sure the media would soon find out about the break in. Cash was taking a shower while I ordered food for us. The bathroom door was open and she was singing softly.
I always loved Cash's voice. Her music was magical to me, she had a way of bringing me to another place with her music. It was a feeling of being on a high, that's just how I felt around her though, always on cloud nine. I was reminding myself to be patient with her because obviously something is causing her to act so strange and it must be difficult. I know Cash well enough to know that whatever it was was very hard for her. She wasn't ever hesitant to tell me things, even when she was on her period which I found many women didn't like to talk about, Cash didn't care.
"Harryyy," she sang through the phone once I answered her call. "Could you be a doll and grab me some chocolate and Chinese food? Maybe some rose? My period started today and I want comfort food."
