It's the age old story of friends to lovers but exactly how long until these friends turn to lovers?
Cash and Harry are trapped inside of the same spinning wheel of fame, music, and success and with nothing short of overbooked schedules and thousan...
Preparing for the opening night at the forum was the one thing keeping me sane, and Cash is too. She was living with me now and I knew once everything with Jared was over she would want to get her own place again, so I was relishing every moment spent waking up and going to bed with her.
This whole situation was fucked and I was beyond annoyed and stressed out. I don't what forces are constantly working against us to cause me and Cash to never be together but they were succeeding. I still thought we should be together. I mean what would change? Except kissing and sex. We hadn't even talked about sex but I knew Cash wasn't shy when it came to that. Jared was being a major pain in my ass and I was beyond livid that he even put his hands on Cash in the first place. I knew the prospect of him being or coming to LA was putting Cash on edge, and I didn't blame her. With everything he did to her it made me livid. My blood boiled when I thought about those pictures that I could never erase from my mind, even more so that Cash would always have nightmares of that time in her life.
Soundcheck at the forum was fun, it reminded me that good things are still happening. Cash was excited for today, she told me during breakfast this morning that she had a new song she wanted to work on. She looked really pretty and refreshed when she woke up. I think it was the first full night's sleep she had without tossing and turning, all her nightmares still haunting her. It was like she couldn't escaped Jared, he was a threat to her in the daytime and when she was asleep. But today, she smiled constantly and hugged me tighter. I don't know how she managed to continue being so strong when all these things were happening to her. I was incredibly proud of her decision to follow through with the lawsuit, Jared deserved to rot in prison.
My phone ringing snapped back to reality and away from the thoughts. I expected it to be Cash or maybe Gemma but it was Niall. I hadn't talked to him in a long time. My confusion was clear to him as I answered the phone, "hello?"
"Harry, mate, long time," he breathily laughed. "Look, I was at the studio and I ran into Cash. She was really upset about something and I told her I'd bring her home or the hospital, she was in no position to drive herself," his words shot daggers in my heart and I briskly moved across the stage to grab my jacket and keys.
"Where are you? Why would she need to go to the hospital, is she hurt?"
"She looked so pale. She wanted me to bring her to William Curtis' Law Office. I'm in the lobby now, I didn't want to just leave."
"Did she tell you anything?" I ran to my car and immediately started the engine and began driving.
"No, but mate, she was really upset. I asked her what I could do and she told me to call you."
"Thanks mate, I'm heading there now. Just stay with her until I come."
I had never seen the LA streets so busy before as I roamed through traffic trying to get to Cash as soon as I could. One million things swirled through my mind. Either the lawyers called her with information or Jared contacted her. With the way Niall explained things I had feeling Jared tried to contact her.
Seeing Niall as I walked into the law office felt good but then I remembered why I was here.
"Thank you," I said hugging him.
"No worries."
"What happened again?"
"I was going into the studio and I noticed Cash in the room next to mine so I dropped in to say Hi and she was so distraught. Her face was pale, I thought she was getting sick. I was going to bring her to the hospital but she told me she needed to come here and then when I asked who I could call she told me, you."
"Thank you, seriously for staying and driving her here."
"of course, I didn't realize you two were so close." His smirk on his face made me smile.
"It's complicated, but we are. . . close. I should go in," I said pointing to the door. He nodded and gave me another hug before walking away.
I braced myself for whatever I was about to walk into as I knocked on the door. Cash's lawyer stood there with relief on his face once he saw it was me. "She needs you," he mouthed letting. me into the room.
To see Cash sitting there looking physically ill caused my body to want to shut down, her pain caused me pain. Relief washed over her features as she stood up to hug me crying into my neck. I saw the lawyer nod before walking out of the room leaving me and Cash alone. I still didn't know what was going on but I didn't want to push Cash.
"He texted me, I don't even know how he got my number."
"I'm so sorry." She continued to cry until the lawyer came back and told us that the judge agreed to a private trial. Cash relaxed more and the man continued to tell us more information we needed to know.
I wasn't familiar with all this legal stuff but what I did understand is that as soon as Jared is in LA he will be arrested. With him being famous it helped that he had a few radio shows to do so the police would know where he is. They advised Cash to not answer the text messages and to change her number.
Which is the first thing we did when we left the office, we contacted her manager and told her she would need a new number. Cash needed some air, a place to breathe, so I brought her to my watermelon farm. It was a 45 minute drive but I don't think she minded.
"Shit," she said rubbing her hand over her face. "Didn't you have rehearsals today?"
"We were done," I lied. We had a lot to do before the show in three days and with my mum and Gemma coming into town I was going to be extremely busy but Cash was worth it.
"Harry, don't lie to me. I am so sorry, I'mruiningeverything." I frowned at her words and tone of voice that told me she really believed that.
"No you do not, Cash, you are the most important person in my life. You are a priority to me, I will always be there when you need me. Do not apologize." I hoped the sincerity in my voice told her I was being honest. She is a priority in my life and I would cancel the whole tour for her if I had to. "Now, come one, I think you'll like this."
Walking around the farm and seeing all the watermelons made Cash smile. I even had a small cottage house on the land with a lake. I had future plans of getting horses because I know Cash loves them. Not many people know about this place so it really is a safe haven.
"I got you something," I said grabbing a spare set of keys from my pocket. "You and me are the only ones with keys to this place, I want you to feel like it's yours too, you can come here whenever you need a break."
She smiled widely and grabbed the key with the small watermelon and sunflower rubber key chain attached. She gave me a tight hug sighing as she breathed in the fresh air.
"Thank you, Harry."
"Anything for my sunflower."
