Chapter 4; Heartbreak

Garnet's P.O.V
"Garnet...... I think someone's purposely hurting (y/n)...."
'What does he mean someone's purposely hurting this girl, who would be so cruel as to hurt a child? How could anyone do that and sleep at night?' I think to myself, completely horrified at Steven's theory
"Maybe we should follow her, see what happens on her day to day life and see if anything is wrong" I suggest
Steven looks at me shocked
"Follow her? Ok, beside the point that it's rude to follow someone, even if we wanted to, she's too far ahead, we don't know where she went Garnet" Steven explains
"Firstly, if she's being abused then the right thing to do is help her and stop it, we can't do that if we don't know who's doing it and we can't find out who's doing it because she won't tell us, so following her is the only way we can find out" i reason with him
"Secondly Steven, i know exactly where she went" I say, tapping on my visors
"Future vision!" Steven says realising what i meant.
Steven and i head out the door and down the stairs, we stop and he looks at me, waiting for me to tell him which way (y/n) went
"Right, she went right" i suddenly say
We both start running right, until we get to The Big Donut
"Garnet, do you know where she is?" Steven asks me
"Follow me"
I lead Steven up the cliff where the Temple is. i put my finger over my mouth signalling Steven to be quiet, he nods in understanding
"She's behind the lighthouse" i whisper. We sneak up and peek around the corner, we see her looking at the ocean, taking in the view, every now and then looking down at the bandages cover her cut and bruise, running her thumb up and down her bandaged wrist.
Steven feels uncomfortable watching her like this so sits down on the opposite side of lighthouse to where (y/n) is and looks at the grass. I continue watching her. She finally puts her hoodie down and takes her jumper off completely, her left eye was bruised
'Who could've done this to her?'
She takes her beanie off and i see her blue hair flow in the wind
'Wait a second, blue hair, did she dye it?' You think to yourself
She looks so, peaceful, in a way, so happy to be staring at the ocean, her eyes sparkle in the evening sun
'She looks so beautiful........ wait, what am i thinking!?' Shocked at what i just thought
I snap out of it when she suddenly stands up and i get ready to alert Steven that we need to move, but she just walks closer to the edge
'W-wait, what is she doing.....?' I began to worry
She just stares down at the ground below, standing at the edge of the cliff, i begin to think the worst and get ready to stop whatever is about to happen, just when it looks like she's about to take a step forward she stops herself. She screams, it doesn't sound like an angry scream, it sounds, really sad. Her voice is shaky as she screams, she collapses onto the ground in a sob, she holds her head in her hands, sobbing into them vigorously, trying to wipe her tears with every sob, soaking her bandages.
My heart sinks to see her hurting so badly
'Whoever could hurt this poor girl must be the worst human on this Earth, after all the Crystal Gems have done to protect this planet and the humans who lived her, who we thought were so wonderful, to see this girl in so much pain because another human being is harming her is heartbreaking' I think, watching her cry her poor heart out and drain herself of all her tears.
I turn to Steven
"I'm sorry Steven, i can't watch this anymore, this is so heartbreaking, she's in so much pain over whatever is happening" I apologise to Steven, he touches me, reassuring me that it was ok, we head back down the cliff.
After all that, we never found out who was doing this to (y/n), but when we do, i will make sure they pay
