Chapter 7; Everything Will Be Ok

Garnet's P.O.V
"Garnet... i need to tell you something..."
(y/n) looks at me, fear in her eyes, i grow concerned of what she could be so scared to tell me. She looks down at her feet as she hugs her legs tightly, she's beginning to emotionally close herself off. I move so I'm kneeling in front of her, i place my hands on both her shoulders, she looks up at me, holding back her tears
"(Y/n), whatever you have to tell me, it's ok, it'll be ok, I'm sure it's not that big of a deal, I promise we can work it out, together, just like always" I reassure her. I pause, i suddenly realise what i said
"I-i m-mean, we as in the g-gems, n-not we as in j-just you and m-me. I-i mean we're not together. I m-mean! We're together in each other's company! B-but not together as in we're dating or a-anything!!" I explain, stuttering and panicking like a teenager does with their high school crush
'What is happening to me!?' I think to myself, with no idea what's wrong with me and why I'm acting like this suddenly
"Garnet, there's a secret I've been keeping from you guys and lies I've told to keep that secret and i don't feel right about it anymore" (y/n) says, knocking me out of my thoughts and back into reality
"(y/n) it's ok, we'll understand, everyone has their secrets to keep and it doesn't matter" i say trying to comfort her
"No Garnet, stop, just listen-" (y/n) begins, but i cut her off
"I'm serious (y/n), you don't have to tell us, it's your secret and you have a right to have secre-" I say, still trying to put mind at ease
"Garnet!!" (y/n) yells, interrupting me
"I'm half gem! I'm like Steven!!" She continues
"What.....?" i say confused
"My mother was a Lapis Lazuli.... I'm half gem" (y/n) repeats
She stands up and turns around, lifting her shirt just enough to see the Lapis Lazuli gemstone on her lower back
"Y-you're like Steven, You're another half gem hybrid.... w-we need to tell the others, especially Steven, they, he, has a right to know this just as much as i do" i stay standing up, grabbing her hand trying to pull her to the house with me, she jerks her hand out of my grip, causing me to turn around to look at her curiously
(y/n) looks at me, timidly. She was scared.... scared to tell the gems, after lying to them, for so long
'How could i be so inconsiderate...?' I think as i kneel in front of her, looking her in the eyes, i take my visors off to show even more compassion

Your P.O.V
I watch as Garnet takes her visors off, looking at her beautiful eyes for the first time. She has 3 amazing, colourful eyes, the right one is blue, the left one is red and her 3rd eye is a beautiful purple. i blush a bit as i look into them, i can feel her warmth as i stare into them, she gently smiles as me with her beautiful full lips and she puts boths her hands on my shoulder and stares back into my eyes in a caring way
"(y/n), it'll be ok, i'll be right by your side the whole time, supporting you, i'll help get you through this" Garnet says, cupping my cheek, i feel the coldness coming from her right hand cool down my hot blushing as a see a little bit of steam come from in between my cheek and her hand
'How much am i blushing to make my cheeks hot enough to create steam!?' I think as i hope Garnet doesn't notice
I take a deep breath in
"Ok, I'll tell them" i say nervously
Garnet looks at me with a proud smile that makes me blush a bit again, she takes my hand in one of her and leads me to The Temple, i look down at our holding hands and smile gently blushing even more
I knew i had made the right choice
<~~ Time Skip ~~>
We ended up staying up all night, i told the gems everything i know about my gemstone and answered as many questions as i could, Garnet kept her promise, she stayed right next to me the whole time and supported me. She rubbed my back when things got a bit emotional, and she was so great the whole time.
Steven's fallen asleep, Pearl picks him up and tucks him into his bed upstairs.
Amethyst walks to her room
"I need a breather from this, this is too much info for me, i'll be back later dudes, and if Steven wakes up and asks where i am, tell him i went on a mission or somethin', he'll only worry that i'm upset or somethin' when i'm not" Amethyst tells us stopping at the door
"I think i will do the same, i going to go.... reorganise my room, maybe even Amethyst's as well" Pearl says as she walks into her room
"Don't you touch my stuff Pearl!" Amethyst yells in annoyance at Pearl from saying that.
She runs after Pearl, the Temple door closes and the house is silent.
Garnet is still sitting next to me on the couch, there's an awkward silence between the 2 of us, neither of us know what to say.
I can feel Garnet looking at me, even tho she's not facing me and her visors on, i know she's looking at me from the corner of her eyes. The awkwardness finally gets to me and i stand up quickly, bringing Garnet's full attention onto me.
"I-I'm going out.... i need some air" i say, not turning to look at Garnet as i walk to the door
"Oh, um ok, stay sa-" Garnet begins as i close the door and walk out
"-fe....." Garnet says sadly.
I walk around Beach City, i have no idea where I'm going or where I've been. I somehow end up at the house dad and i had moved into when we moved. All our stuff was moved into a storage compartment and the house was sold when dad got arrested, the judge tried to put me in the foster system but the gems volunteered to look after me, after stating that the gems had been looking after Steven so well and i had been staying with them most of the time anyways the judge found it acceptable and i was officially in the custody of the gems. Dad was sentenced to a few years in age, I'll be at least 20 by the time he gets out so he won't have much parental rights for me after he's out, i get to visit him in jail, under a certain condition, i must have someone with me at all times when visiting my dad.
'I wonder if I'll ever be brave enough to visit him, will he be mad? Will he hate me? Does he miss me?' I think as i stare at my old house
"Um, hello? Can i help you?" Someone says from behind me
I turn around to see this tall guy, he's wearing a red shirt with light brown shorts and grey sandals, he has glasses on and dreadlocked hair that looks kinda like fries, he looks at me suspiciously
"Oh, s-sorry, is this your house.....?" I ask
"Yes, now who are you? I haven't seen you around here, what're you doing in front of my house? *gasp* are you an alien? Did you come from outer space to abduct us all!?" He asks, getting out his phone to record me
"I-I'm not an alien, i came from Earth, ahh, p-please stop recording me" i say, getting more and more nervous as he brings his phone closer
"But look at your vibrant blue hair, it looks too good to be dyed, where did you come from? What're you here to do?" He asks, beginning to investigate you. He lifts up the back of your shirt to see your gem
"Ahh! Stop! Don't touch me, get your hands off my shirt!!" You demand, moving away from him
"Who are you? What are you?" He asks, getting closer
"I'm none of your business!!" I scream before running off scared.
I hide away on the dock, at the end away from the rides, i sit on the edge, legs hanging off, and stare into the water. I begin to cry
"H-how could he do that? Th-that wasn't appropriate, why w-would he do that? I thought Beach City was supposed to be a good, safe place..." I sob to myself
<~~ Time Skip To After Dinner~~>
"Hey (y/n), could i have a look at your gem, i thought someone looked strange when you first showed us and i just want to look to see if i'm correct" Pearl says
"Uh, sure Pearl, i guess so" i say, turning around and lifting my shirt just enough to see my gem
Pearl examines it closely then then turns to the gems and then to me, i look at her, my head on my shoulder and i can only see her out of the corner of my eye, but she looks, puzzled, like something was wrong
"Is uh, is everything ok Pearl? You're making me very nervous....." i say
"Oh, it's nothing particularily wrong it's just, i noticed that after you told us your gem was a Lapis Lazuli, that we had never seen you use your powers, no matter how emotional you got, i thought it was the simple fact that you hadn't yet got them, like how Steven took a while figuring out his powers, but after you had showed us your gem it looked, different. (y/n), your gem is cracked......" Pearl explains
"Cracked? How!? Is she going to be ok!?" Garnet asks scared, you blush a tiny bit over how much she cares
"Garnet I'm fine, i didn't even know it was cracked, i honestly didn't know my gem came with powers" i say, the gems all look at each other then back at me. They knew something i didn't
"(y/n), do you know anything about your mother? Anything at all?" Pearl asks, still kneeling on the floor from looking at your gem
"No, dad didn't want to talk about her, i just know she had blue hair, which is why i have mine, i don't know how or when my gem got cracked either" i say, trying to get back on the topic of my gem
"Steven, would you please heal (y/n)'s gem? We'll then discuss what powers she, possesses, tomorrow after a good nights rest" Pearl says, moving out of the way for Steven
He heals my gem with his magic spit, that i still find gross. It's cold and feels tingly as it heals, glowing bright enough for you to see even when I'm not trying to look at your gem.
Steven and i get ready for bed, then go to sleep. He sleeps on his bed but i decide to sleep on the couch instead of next to him. Garnet sits next to where i lay my head, she strokes my head and i fall into a deep slumber.

Garnet's P.O.V
While Steven and (y/n) get ready for bed, Amethyst, Pearl and i discuss (y/n) and her gem and newly gained powers over by the Temple door
"If she's never had the ability to use her powers before, she will not have any control over them, as much as she's a human, she has a Lapis Lazuli powers, water powers, we live right next to the ocean! Who knows what kind of damage she could do when she has no practice and access to the biggest body of water just outside those doors!?" Pearl yell whispers, trying not to be heard
"Exactly, if she has no practice she won't be able to do that badly could she? We can just leave her" Amethyst talks back
I've been looking at (y/n) set up the couch for bed
"Garnet? What do you think?"
Both Amethyst and Pearl are looking at me, waiting for what i think we should do, i look at them then look back at (y/n), she notices me and smiles at me, a proper smile, the first one I've ever seen on her face, she looks so happy here and so content with herself now, like we're going to help, or maybe even already have helped, complete her, fulfil what she thinks she's meant to be, we can't abandon her now
"We'll take turns watching her" i say
"What!?" Pearl says
"Ha!" Amethyst says over Pearl
"We're not abandoning her now after she's just beginning to feel comfortable with herself, she looks like she finally feels completely, or she's hoping she will be, like something she's wondered about her whole life is about to be explained to her. We'll take turns watching over her and her new powers, we'll try to help her gain control over them as soon as we can, and someone must be watching her as much as she will physically let us. Our goal is to be trying to take care of and helping her, not making her uncomfortable" i explain, barely taking my eyes off her
"But for now, I'll watch her while she sleeps tonight, it's her first night with her powers and i want to make sure nothing happens" i tell the gems
"You 2 can go do your own things for now, I'll call you if something happens" i continue, patting their back signalling them they can leave.
After (y/n) is finished getting ready she lays on the couch, i sit next to where her head is and begin stroking her head, she looks up at me and gives me the cutest sleepy smile ever, she then falls asleep
