Chapter 17; What Have We Started?

This chapter is based off Season 3 Episode 12 (Restaurant Wars)

Your P.O.V
"Hey Steven, it's been a while since we did something together, let's go do something!" I say suddenly
"Let's go get some fries!!" Steven suggests
"Yeah!! Let's go!!" I say excited
We run out of the door and down the stairs, Garnet is on the beach
"Where are you two off to in a rush?" Garnet asks
"We're gonna get fries!!" Steven and I yell as we run past
"Be back before dark!!" Garnet yells back
"Ok!!!" We shout back, still running.
We get to the Beach Citywalk Fries shop and run up the counter, Peedee already there waiting
"Giveee.... usss.... theeee" We start, talking and moving in slow motion
"Just hurry up and say it you two" Peedee says blankly
Steven and I look at each other
"Hmm, actually.." Steven starts
"What else ya got?" I continue, both of giving him finger guns
"You guys could order actual fries" Peedee suggests sarcastically
"Nah" i say
"Let's really try and shake things up today" Steven adds
"We wanna order 'off menu' " We say, putting finger quotes on the 'off menu'
"You always order off menu.. *sigh* Let me see what i can find. I'll be back in a sec" Peedee says walking away to look
"I really appreciate it!" Steven yells
"Yeah! Thanks Peedee! You're the best!!" I yell
After waiting a while, Peedee finally comes back
"Steven! (y/n)! Check this out! Boom!" Peedee says, almost slamming 2 containers of Mozzarella Sticks with Marinara sauce
"Mozzarella sticks!!" I say excited
"With all the fixin's!?" Steven adds
"I can't believe it either! They were way back in the freezer for some reason. Feels good to fry something else for a change" Peedee explain
"Thank you Peedee!" Steven thanks
"Wow Peedee, thank you, it looks great, you're amazing Peedee!" I thank
Peedee blushes a bit
"No problem Steven and (y/n), enjoy" Peedee says
We walk away and begin eating our Mozzarella Sticks, as we walk past Fish Stew Pizza i hear a sudden ding and a door slam open
"Steven! (y/n)! What is this!?" This man asks us
We can't answer because our mouths are full
"Bread.... cheese.... marinara sauce! The basic elements of a pizza! Where did it come from!?" The man shouts
We both point to Beach Citywalk Fries, he looks angrily at the shop
"Fryman.. infringing on my business. I have been ready for this day!" He says
He walks into his shop and hangs a sign in the window
'Now serving fries' it reads
"So, it begins anew, eh Kofi?" this strange man says from behind us
"Just like old times Fryman" the man from before says, I'm assuming he's Kofi
The atmosphere is getting tenser by the second. They start screaming each other's names before screaming
"Res-tau-rant waaaaaaarrr!"
And storming off
"I'm sure it's fine" I finally say after swallowing the bite of Mozzarella Stick in my mouth

Steven and I walk on the Boardwalk, people are lying on the ground, assumably passed out, with fries and pizza all over the Boardwalk. We see a pizza mascot
"Peedee?" Steven asks
"Peedee!? That's Peedee!?" I ask Steven shocked
We run up to Peedee
"What happened!?" I ask Peedee, gesturing to the mess surrounding us
"I violated the food treaty" Peedee explains
"What do you mean?" Steven asks
"What food treaty?" I ask
"Years ago.. my dad and Kofi signed an agreement to not steal each other's business.. but when I fried up those Mozzarella Sticks, I re-ignited the hot oil of war" Peedee explains to us
"If it makes you feel any better they were delicious" i say
"Oh Peedee, don't blame yourself, we were the one who wanted to shake things up" Steven says
"Oh, yeah. It's your fault" Peedee says looking at us
I was about to say something when the man I'm assuming is Fryman appears from behind the counter
"Hey Steven! Hey (y/n)! As a valued customer I want to know your thoughts on our new menu item. Deep-Fried Pizza" Fryman asks us
"Fatty, disgusting, no" I say honestly, looking at it with disgust
"W-what (y/n) means is, could we just get some fries?" Steven says, trying to spare his feelings
"Sorry, we're all out of fries" He says
"What!?" Steven and i say
"Even the bits!?" Steven adds
"We have pizza bits now" Fryman says holding a basket of Pizza Bits
"But how can you guys be out of fries? This is the fry shop, you're Fryman. Look at your hair" i say, gesturing to the building, then him, then his hair
"What about my hair?" He asks
Suddenly we hear groaning in the background
"I can't connect to Fish Stew Pizza's wifi" We hear some guy say
I look and it's that man, who lifted my shirt and tried to 'investigate' me
"Hey, you got no time for interneting. You're doing deliveries now" Fryman says to Ronaldo
'Mental note, never order from here' I think to myself
"But i don't even have a car!" He talks back
"You got those wheely shoes don't cha?" Fryman asks
"Yeah.." Ronaldo replies disappointed, standing up, flicking his wheels out and wheeling away.
Steven and I decide to go to Fish Stew Pizza, we walk in to see Jenny at the counter, which is unusual
"Jenny, you're working the counter?" Steven asks
"I know right? Things have been crazy since the war has been back on! The phones have been ringing off the hook" Jenny explains
"I'll get it! Thanks for calling Fish Stew Pizza. We do fries now" I hear in the background
"Anyway, I'm obligated to tell you about our special new menu item. French Fry Pizza with a French Fried Crust and Twice-Baked French Fries on the side.... *sigh* cause we do fries now" Jenny says getting out a notepad and pen ready for us to order
"We'd rather just have our usual-" Steven begins
"Steven! (y/n)!" Kofi yells
"Oh, hey Kofi" We greet
"Before you place your order, you must sign *groan* these papers and pledge your allegiance to Fish Stew Pizza!" Kofi says slamming a large amount of papers on the counter
"Yeah I'm not doing that" i say quickly
"Not only that, you'll be issued a brand-new, permanent, V.I.P pizza-eater card!" Kofi adds, bringing out a red hot brander
Steven runs out screaming at the sight of it
"You're crazy man" i say to Kofi before following Steven out
Fryman and Kofi run after Steven with Pizza Bits and the red hot brander in their hands
"Ugh, I'm getting sick of this" i groan, i fly up above Steven, Kofi and Fryman and use my water powers to drench both Fryman and Kofi, soaking the Pizza Bits and cooling off the brander, and wet Steven a bit
"Both of you need to back off, you're scaring Steven!" I say
Steven runs off screaming
"What have i doneee!?"
<~~ Night Time at The Temple~~>
Steven and I called over Ronaldo, which I'm uncomfortable with but i haven't told Steven what happened and right now isn't the time so I'm hiding whatever discomfort I'm feeling for the time being, Peedee, Jenny and Jenny's twin sister, who i don't currently know the name of
"Thank you all for coming. Ronaldo, Kiki" Steven begins
'Kiki, that's her name, i gotta remember that' i note to myself
"Jenny and Peedee" Steven finishes, everyone looks at home confused
"We've called you all here this night because, this war between your parents has to stop!" Steven says, turning around and slamming his hands on the coffee table
"Dude chill" i say to Steven
"Steven how do you think we feel? Do you know how many metal concerts I've missed because of this war" Jenny says
"How many?" Kiki and I ask
"Mm, like.. one?" Jenny answers a bit unsure
"Do you know how much blogging i haven't been able to do!?" Ronaldo shouts
"Hey! Cool it weirdo! I'm sure the world could do without your freaky blogs and invasive investigations anyways!" I shout back
" *clears throat* i don't know how you feel, nor how much concerts and blogging you've missed, but i do know it's all our- my fault, if only my taste buds weren't so adventurous" Steven says
"Ok firstly, it's my fault too dude, I wanted new foods just as much as you, secondly right now we need to focus on finding a way to work this out" I reassure Steven
"(y/n)'s right, but how? There's no end in sight to all this fighting" Peedee agrees
"Well, we need to stop hate, and how do you stop hate? With the opposite of hate!" I say
"Oh! Ronaldo! Kiki! You're sitting next to each other" Steven says
"Where are you going with this Steven?" Kiki and I ask
"You guys should pretend to be in love, there won't be any time for fighting if your families have to plan a wedding together!" Steven suggests
"What!?" I say shocked
"Well.. i guess we could try" Kiki says questioningly
"Anything to get this war over with" Kiki adds
"Are you crazy!?" I yell
"Yes! We'll fight this war with the power of love!" Steven yells excited
"No way, we can't do this because I.. have a girlfriend" Ronaldo says
"Where she at though?" Jenny whisper sassily
"You said what i was thinking" Peedee says
"Heh, nice one Jenny" I add
"Ok, you don't have to pretend to get married, just.. pretend to be in love long enough to get this feud over with" Steven says
"I got a bad feeling about this" Ronaldo says
"Bro, I hate to say it but i agree with nutjob over there" I say
"Nothing bad is going to happen and you'll get to spend time with the cutest girl in Beach City" Jenny says
"Yeah.... nothing bad can happen" i repeat to myself
