Chapter Nineteen

Present day...

I finish applying my lipstick with a steady hand, taking a step back so I can smooth down my dress in front of the full-length mirror. My eyes hardly recognise the girl standing in front of me as she looks like a complete stranger.
She bought a red dress especially for tonight and paired it with some heels and matching red lipstick. I even went to the hair salon this afternoon so my hair looks incredibly sleek and shiny. All of this in preparation for what's going to happen tonight.

Chase headed off to work as usual this morning and still has no idea what I have planned for him. I'm going to keep it that way until the very last second.

It's nearly seven o'clock by now and people will start arriving soon. I asked everyone to be here by half past so there's no overlap between the guests arriving and Chase coming home from work at eight.

This has to go perfectly.

Louise will arrive thirty minutes after Chase does which is exactly what I planned and it will also coincide with my big reveal.

They have no idea what's coming.

My phone vibrates on the bed and I reach for it; smiling when I see Finn's name flash up on the screen.

I just want you to know that I'm thinking about you. You can do this and you're the strongest person I know. After tonight, you'll be free x 

I smile weakly, typing out a quick response to him before leaving my phone on the bed and closing the door to my bedroom.

It's finally showtime and I can't afford to put a single foot wrong tonight. This is my one and only chance to expose Chase and completely ruin his life for everything he's done to me.

Chase, this is your curtain call and you better not miss it.
