We arrived at the CDC and everyone was quiet. I wasn't sure what to expect, even though I was almost positive it was overrun.
Everyone got out of the vehicles to see walkers and dead bodies around the building. "There could still be people inside." Rick said as he walked closer and the group followed.
Rick looked at the camera.
"We have woman and children, please let us in." Of course, there was no answer.
"Rick, no ones here." Shane argued.
"The camera moved!" Rick yelled.
"I know you're in there! We're going to die out here! It's almost dark. Let us in." Rick begged.
Daryl looked at me and raised his eyebrows.
Everyone has sorta given up on Rick and started to turn around to head back to the vehicles.
Then, the front doors opened.
Everyone turned back and ran inside, and the doors closed behind.
"What do you guys want?" The man inside said. There only seemed to be one man.
Rick talked to him and he brought us on this elevator. He had a program that he spoke to called "Vi".
"I'm Dr. Jenner." He said as he brought us upstairs. "Vi, turn the lights on to the big room." He said. The lights went on and all of this technology was there. "Wow." Daryl whispered.
"Where's everyone else?" Rick asked.
"Gone. Either dead or trying to survive."

After showing us some cool stuff, he showed us that he had rooms for us. "There's hot showers, so enjoy that." Jenner mentioned.
"I cooked dinner."
We all sat around and ate and drank.
"Drink up Glenn." I said, half drunk.
"Yeah I wanna see how much you can take little guy." Daryl said, passing another bottle to Glenn.
We all laughed and it finally felt like I was getting to know these people.
"Carl should have a sip." Dale suggested.
"He won't like it." Lori said as she passed a glass to Carl. We all went quiet and watched Carl take a sip.
"Yuck." He said with a sour look on his face, and it just caused us to laugh even more.
I woke up and Daryl was carrying me to our room. I must've passed out from how drunk I got.
"You drank too much." Daryl said in a soft voice and he layed me on the bed and put the blankets over me. My head rang. "I love you." I said. Daryl chuckled and turned the light off to lay down beside me.
"I love you too." He said as he pulled me into him and held onto me.

I woke up with a blasting headache and a stomach ache. I used to drink all the time before this, with Merle and Daryl.
I guess it's been awhile.
I ran to the bathroom and threw up. I heard Daryl run over and he rubbed his hand on my back as I continued to puke.
"Sorry." I whispered and I flushed the toilet
"Guess Im not used to drinking anymore." I laughed.

We headed down for breakfast, and my head still ached. I could tell Glenn wasn't feeling good either.
"Drink this. It's helps with a hangover." Lori laughed as she passed Glenn a drink.
"Don't ever let me drink again." Glenn joked as he rubbed his head.

We all talked and ate our breakfast. It felt like something I've never had before. A family breakfast.
Jenner walked into us eating breakfast.
"Morning." Shane said.
"We want to know." Andrea asked.
"I knew you would ask." Jenner said.
He walked over to his fancy technology. Daryl looked at me and stood up and I followed him, as he followed Jenner.
"Vi, play back TS-19." Jenner called out to his electronic voice. That was all he had left.
Vi did as he said.
Jenner showed us all the stages of turning.
Stage 1. You die. You get taken over by the fever, and you die.
State 2. A little light sparks up your brain stem, bringing your body back to life but not you.
"Oh shit." Daryl whispered under his breath and pressed a hand on my shoulder.
Jenner powered down the screen.
"There's nothing left, is there?" Andrea asked.
"What type of disease is this? You don't know do you?" Rick questioned. I saw Carl hugging his mom, and Sophia clinging to Carol.
"That clock. It's counting down." Dale pointed out as he eyed the counting down clock in the corner. It read an hour.
Jenner made up a lie. "Vi what happens when the clock reaches 0?" Rick called.
"Decontamination will occur." Vi responded.
"What does that mean?!" Rick yelled, getting in Jenners face. Rick told us to grab our things.
I looked at Daryl, and my anxiety shot through the roof. "Hey." Daryl grabbed my hand.
"It's okay." He reassured me.
We entered our room and started packing our stuff back into our backpacks. I threw my backpack over my back.
"What're you doing?" I asked Daryl. He waved his hand over the vents.
"Air conditioning stopped." He said. Daryl flung his bag over his shoulders and gestured for me to follow him out of the room.
"Why's everything stopping?" Lori asked, stepping out of her room. Everyone crowded in the hallway.
"It's being prioritized." Jenner answered.
We all followed Jenner with our things, swarming him with questions.
"Building shutting itself down." Jenner answered as he continued to walk.
"What's that mean?" Daryl yelled. Jenner didn't answer.
"I'm talking to you!" Daryl yelled and went to get in his face. I put my hand over Daryls chest, stopping him. He looked at me but didn't say anything.
We followed Jenner into his technology type room.
Alarms started blaring and everyone shouted.
Rick and Shane tried to stay in control.
"30 minutes until decontamination." Vi said, as the alarms still went off.
The doors shut.
"You're locking us in here?!" Everyone was yelling, scared. "It's not my choice." Jenner said. He was calm.
"Open the door." I demanded.
"Even if I did, the other doors are sealed and I can't open those." Jenner answered.
"What exactly happens in 28 minutes!?" Shane yelled.
Rick yelled , repeating what Shane said.
"It sets the air on fire. It's quick." Jenner responded.
Carol cried as she held Sophia and Carl whined.
Daryl ran to the door Jenner had shut and started hitting it with anything he could. Shane joined in.
"Won't work. That door is designed to withstand a rocket launcher." Jenner said.
My eyes filled up with tears. I wasn't scared of dying. If I was the only one in here, I think I would be fine.
It's everyone else that doesn't deserve to die like this.
Shane backed off from the door.
Daryl kept hitting it in anger, desperate the get out.
"Daryl stop." My voice broke. Daryl continued hitting the door and I felt tears roll down my cheek.
Lori held me from behind, and I looked around.
Everyone was crying. We were going to die.
