I woke up and headed outside, seeing Rick and Daryl
talking.
I was still feeling nauseous even though I ignored it.
My stomach started to feel like it was being pinched and I leaned over and vomited again.
"I've seen you throw up so many times the past month." Beth said as she held Judith.
I didn't realize she was sitting a few feet away.
"I'm fine." I whispered.
"You should go see my dad and see what's up." Beth suggested.
I shook my head.
"He's busy with this flu still I don't wanna bother him." I said.
"He's not that busy anymore. Just go see him." Beth insisted.
"Fine but not now." I said and I headed towards Daryl.
"You just left her out there?" I heard Daryl say to Rick.
"What's going on?" I asked as I stepped closer.
Rick rubbed his head.
"He left Carol. Kicked her out." Daryl said, clearly angry.
"She killed Karen and David." Rick said.
It couldn't have been Carol. She was so sweet.
"She told you?" I asked.
Rick nodded. "You still don't kick her out." Daryl argued.
"If I didn't kick her out Tyreese would've killed her. Everyone would've wanted her gone." Rick argued back.
"I didn't want to do this." Rick said again.
"Did you at least give her some stuff?" Daryl asked.
Rick nodded.
"Plenty of supplies and a car. She's a survivor, she'll make it." Rick said again.
"What about Lizzie and Mica?" I asked.
Rick looked at the ground. "They have no one now. When their dad died he asked if Carol could take care of them." I said.
"Who's watching them now?" I asked again.
"We'll figure it out." Rick said in a calm voice.
I nodded my head.
"I'm gonna find Hershel." I said and I walked away.
I entered the prison, hoping Daryl wasn't following me.
To my surprise , he wasn't.
I got to our cells and looked inside Hershels. He was looking through a backpack but stopped as he saw me.
"Hershel um.. do you have a minute?" I asked.
Hershel nodded and sat down on the bed.
"What's happening?" Hershel asked.
I continued to stand in the doorway, not wanting to be dramatic about being nauseous.
"I know you've been really busy which is why I haven't said anything." I started to say.
"Beth told me to tell you that I've been sorta nauseous and throwing up for awhile." I said.
Hershel nodded.
"It could just be a stomach bug." Hershel answered.
I shook my head.
"That's what I thought at first. But it's been around 2 months, it would've gone away." I admitted.
Hershel looked at me.
"It could be your gallbladder, or a stomach infection. Lay down for a minute Ill be back." Hershel said as he stood up and left the room.
I layed on the bed, waiting for Hershel to come back.
I looked at the decorated walls, but what caught my eye was the calendar.
Hershel entered the room with some medical devices.
I wasn't quite sure what he was doing but he seemed to know what he was doing.
"I don't think it's your gallbladder." Hershel said.
I sighed.
"I would say food poisoning, but all of us would have it then.. unless you're eating something we aren't." Hershel said again.
I chuckled. "I'm not." I said smiling.
Hershel continued to use the medical devices he had.
"Is that correct?" I asked, pointing at the calendar.
Hershel looked over.
"It's important to keep track of time. That calendar is very correct." Hershel said, turning back to me.
My heart dropped when I realized.
"Holy shit." I whispered, my face turning read and my heart beating.
"You're sure it's correct?" I asked again, almost in a panic.
"Yes, positive." Hershel calmly answered.
"What's wrong?" Hershel questioned.
I could tell my face was red. My heart felt like it was going to come out of my chest.
"Hershel I think Im pregnant." I admitted.
Hershel slightly smiled.
"If you are, no need to worry. The prison is safe, and I know how to deliver a baby." Hershel said, so calmly.
"I need to talk to Maggie about this. Thanks Hershel." I said and stood up. My legs wobbled underneath me.
I exited the room and ran into my cell and swung on one of my old jackets. I pulled it infront of my to zip up and it didn't fit.
My heart dropped again. I lifted my shirt up and saw my stomach did look somewhat bigger.
Maybe I was just overthinking.
I threw the jacket on the ground and went to find Maggie.
As I went outside I saw Hershel had gone out too and was with Michonne near the fence.
"Maggie." I said as I spotted her with Glenn and Daryl.
They were all talking.
"What's up?" Maggie asked with a smile.
"Can you come here for a minute? I need to talk
to you." I asked.
Maggie left the group. I saw Daryl look at me and he looked almost worried.
"What is it?" Maggie asked, looking worried.
I looked around to make sure no one else was close enough to hear.
"Maggie I think I'm pregnant. Hershel thinks I am too." I whispered.
Maggie's face dropped.
"The prison is safe y/n." Maggie reassured me. I nodded.
"Why do you think that though?" Maggie asked me.
"Well I haven't gotten my period in months. I didn't realize it had been so long. I've been throwing up and some of my clothes from a few months ago don't fit." I whispered again.
Maggie smiled.
"Are you gonna tell Daryl?" Maggie asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
"I'm gonna have to. Maybe tonight." I whispered. Maggie's eyes light up.
"Oh my god. Come here." Maggie grabbed me arm and dragged me into the watch tower.
"What're you doing?" I laughed.
Maggie started searching in her backpack and eventually hid the item behind her back with a big smile on her face.
"So a few weeks ago Glenn and I thought I might've been pregnant." Maggie admitted.
"I wasn't, but we have extra pregnancy tests." Maggie said as she revealed it.
"Come on, we can find out for sure!" Maggie pleaded.
I sighed. "Fine." I laughed.
"You know how it works?" Maggie asked as she handed it to me.
"Yes, I know." I said as I took it and went into the main prison with her.
We got to my cell and Maggie seemed more excited than me.
"Okay. Don't look until you come back." Maggie said as she sat on my bed.
"Okay." I said, smiling.
I went to the bathroom and peed on the test. I felt almost weird doing this, but I needed answers.
When I finished I didn't look at it but instead quickly walked back to my cell.
Maggie anxiously sat on the bed, still smiling.
"Come sit." Maggie smiled.
I jokingly rolled my eyes and sat beside her on the bed.
I looked her in the eyes before turning it over.
"I'm not gonna lie, I'm really scared." I admitted.
Maggie nodded.
"If it's positive you have to tell Daryl." Maggie said.
I nodded.
"Do you think he'll take it okay? I mean if it is positive." Maggie said again.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I think so. I think he'd be happy actually." I said.
Maggie smiled. "Okay flip it!" Maggie said as she stared at it in my lap.
I took a deep breath and flipped it over, waiting for my eyes to focus on the symbol.
There were 2 lines.
"You're pregnant." Maggie smiled and hugged me
tight.
"Oh god." I whispered back and hugged her.
"It'll all work out. How far along are you anyway?" Maggie asked me.
I pulled out of our hug.
"3 months maybe." I admitted, shoving the pregnancy test in my backpack.
Maggie smiled.
"Okay. Let's go back down." She said.
"I'll tell Daryl tonight. Don't say anything." I asked. Maggie smiled. "I won't." She said as she headed out of the cell room and I followed her.
Oh god. This isn't the place to raise a kid.
