Daryl got a special bed made up inside our tent so he could rest comfortably.
I woke up by Andrea unzipping our tent door.
"You woke her up." Daryl whispered. I glanced over and saw them both looking at me.
"I just want to say- I'm sorry for shooting you. And y/n, you have every right to be mad." Andrea said.
I rolled on my side on the tent ground, holding my pillow to my chest.
"Yeah we're cool." I said.
"Oh. Okay. And Daryl, I'm so sorry." Andrea said again.
"It's fine. Shoot me again, you better hope I'm dead though." Daryl joked. Andrea nodded and left our tent. It must've been early. Too early for me.
"Sorry." Daryl whispered.
"For what?" I asked and I closed my eyes and tried to go back to sleep.
"Waking you up. You looked so peaceful sleeping." Daryl said.
I smiled and closed my eyes again, hugging my pillow. I woke up and Daryl wasn't in the tent. How it usually was.
I made myself look a little better and left the tent, seeing everyone gathering around and eating. Hershel and his people were inside.
I went and sat beside Daryl. He put his hand on my thigh and I started eating some food. I hadn't eaten in days, so it felt weird to eat.
Glenn stood up and cleared his throat.
"Umm... guys." Glenn said as he clapped his hands together.
"There's.. walkers in the barn." Glenn said.
Everyone stopped eating and all turned to look at eachother.
We all stood up and walked towards the barn.
We peaked inside, and sure enough, it was full of walkers. "Let's kill em." Shane said.
"No. This isn't our farm, we're guests." Rick said.
"Then we leave. Go to Fort Benning." Shane said.
"No." I said.
"We ain't leaving Sophia. I found her doll 2 days ago, I'm close." Daryl said. Shane scoffed and rubbed his forehead. "Yeah, you found a damn doll Daryl." Shane said.
"I don't see you out there." I sneered back.
"You don't know what you're talking about!" Daryl yelled.
"I'm sure if Sophia is alive and she saw you, she would run in the other damn direction!" Shane yelled back.
Daryl charged at Shane, and Shane continued yelling. Rick got in the way, and everyone held both of them back.
"We talk to Hershel." Rick calmly said.
Everyone continued looking at the barn.
"He sees them as sick people." Dale said, pointing to the barn.
"C'mon." I said as I grabbed Daryls arm, trying to bring him away from the group of people.
He followed me, but I stopped infront of Shane.
"Maybe you could start being useful when you start getting over Lori. Stop being a bitch about it, she's done." I whispered in his ear, so only he heard.
I continued walking and Daryl and I sat in our tree.
I could tell Daryl was upset.
"You're doing everything you can." I said, looking up at him.
"It's not enough." He whispered as he rubbed his hand on the back of his neck.
"You're doing more for her than anyone here is Daryl. Don't say that, I'm proud of you." I said again.
Daryl didn't answer, he just nodded in agreement.
I looked down at the rest of our group and saw Rick head out somewhere with Hershel, and Shane looked like he was headed for the woods.
I couldn't see Dale.
Daryl played with his hands and I could tell what Shane said made him really upset, he wouldn't admit it though.
"This group is broken." Daryl whispered.
I nodded. The group was strong, but broken. Everyone had different opinions and it was hard to work together, especially for Shane and because Hershel had strict rules.
"Rick'll make it." I said.
Daryl modded. "Ricks smart, strong. It's the others that are broken." Daryl said.
We sat in silence for a few minutes.
"Hey, y/n?" Daryl whispered without looking up.
"Yeah?" I asked.
Daryl looked up at my with his bright blue eyes.
"If something happens, just go. Don't stick around and wait for me or the others." Daryl said in almost a whisper.
"Nothing will happen." I said, even though I knew it wasn't true. Things always happened , even before.
"You have to be safe. I lost Merle, I cant loose you." Daryl said.
"But if you're gone, what does it matter?" I asked.
Daryl smirked and looked back down at his hands.
"Stay alive for me. But I won't die. This is my type of world, where everything's shit." Daryl said.
I didn't say anything.
"You should eat." Daryl said.
I hopped out of the tree and went into the farm, and went straight to the kitchen. Glenn and Maggie were there but I ignored them and made myself a sandwich.
"If you wanted food, you could've asked." Maggie said in a nice voice. "You're dealing with a lot, I got it." I said, as I cleaned up and mess and started eating.
I looked out of the kitchen window while I ate, and for a second I forgot we were in an apocalypse. It felt normal, but only for a second.

I headed outside after I finished eating and I saw Shane enter the gates with a bag full of guns. Maggie and Glenn followed me outside, and the whole group stared at Shane, confused.
"Hershel said no guns." I reminded Shane.
Shane seemed to ignore my comment. I saw Daryl get down from the tree and he stood beside me.
"We have to protect ourselves. It was supposed to be safe here, but I'm afraid it can't be with that barn." Shane said, completely disrespecting Hershels property.
Shane started handing out the guns to everyone, including Carl who had just learned how to shoot a few days ago.
"Take this." Shane said as he shoved a gun into my chest. I grabbed it without saying a word.
"My dad will kick you out if you do this." Maggie said, desperately wanting Shane to stop.
"He'll deal with it." Shane said.
I looked around for Rick, because I knew Rick wouldn't allow this. I didn't see him.
"You're a dumbass, you know that?" I said looking Shane right in the eyes.
"You shut your mouth." Shane said in his serious voice, eyeing me down.
"You have your fun, shoot those walkers and get us kicked out, being on the road doesn't bother me. It doesn't bother Daryl. Y'know whose life you'll be putting at risk though?" I said looking at him.
Shane didn't answer.
"Carl. Loris. Yours." I said. "I could go on." I said again.
"I will keep them safe, you just let me make this place safe." Shane said, ignoring what I had said.

Once everyone had guns, Shane turned around. I started hearing walkers growling but it wasn't coming from inside the barn.
We all saw Rick and Hershel, carrying walkers on a leash to bring to the barn.
"What the hell?!" Shane yelled as he ran over.
"Oh god." I sarcastically whispered to Daryl.
Rick put a hand up to call Shane down.
"I'm seeing it his way Shane." Rick said in a calm voice.
"What do we do know?" Daryl asked me.
I thought about that for a minute.
"Get ready to shoot I guess." I answered, reaching in my backpack and finding my own gun that Hershel didn't know about.
Daryl took the gun Shane handed him and we both walked forward.
