I woke up and Daryl was still in the tent. He was awake, but still laying down.
"How'd you sleep?" He turned to me and asked.
Shitty. I had nightmares about Sophia all night, but I wasn't going to tell him that.
"Normal." I whispered and I got up and left the tent. Daryl followed.
I was tired of loosing people.
I went on another walk, quickly leaving before anyone saw me. I walked right to the flower bush again, it was pretty and calmed me down.
I sat there with my thoughts and picked some flowers that I thought would be nice to bring back to the farm. I was assuming we were going to have a funeral type thing for Sophia, so all these flowers would be nice there. Sophia would've liked them.
I rubbed my hands over my head, realizing the pain wouldn't stop.
It never had, and definitely wasn't planning on it now.
I got up with the flowers and walked back to the farm, seeing everyone gather around the graves.
We all stood around them, and I placed the flowers on Sophias.
"Where's Carol?" I whispered to Daryl. He looked around and shrugged his shoulders.
"Didn't want to come. Said it wasn't her daughter." He whispered back. I understood that.
"And Hershel?" I whispered, looking at the graves that were dug for his wife and step son.
"I saw him take a car. Probably went for a drive." Daryl whispered.
I sighed. I knew Hershel wasn't a fan of us, especially Shane. Of course, I didn't mind being on the road, on the run. Being dirty, hungry, tired, scared. That didn't bother me. It was everyone else that worried me, and then eventually dying which would cause more pain for me and I would be alone. That's what I feared. Having to live with that.

After the funeral I sat out by the fire. I always knew Sophia was most likely dead, but I still had some hope she wasn't.
"Somethings wrong with Beth." Maggie called, running out of the house sounding out of breath.
I ran upstairs to see Beth, laying in a bed.
"She won't talk, shes not moving or eating." Maggie panted, leaning over her body.
Rick entered the room, looking at Beth.
"She looks like she's in shock." I said calmly.
Maggie looked up at me with worried eyes.
"We need Hershel." Rick said, exiting the room and jumping in a car with Glenn.
"He went into the city." Daryl said, coming into the house to see Beth.
"We can't leave her alone." Maggie whimpered.
"We won't." I assured her. I sat by Beths side while Maggie watched everyone else outside.

Time passed and everyone took turns watching Beth. I sat outside with Daryl.
"We need Hershel." Lori said, coming up to Daryl and I.
"We know." I said without looking at her.
"Ain't Rick and Glenn getting em?" Daryl asked.
Lori sighed and put a hand on her forehead.
"They aren't back. Can you guys run into town and get them all?" Lori asked.
Daryl looked at me and I rolled my eyes.
"We ain't errand boys." I said, still not looking at her.
"If you want em, you get em." Daryl snapped back at her.
Lori huffed and walked away angrily.
"Bitch." I whispered under my breath.
Daryl chuckled.
Awhile later:
It started to get dark and no one returned. It didn't really phase me, they were probably just stuck somewhere.
Daryl and I sat in our tree and watched everyone else eat dinner.
"You ever have a family dinner like that?" I asked and pointed into the window at everyone. Daryl laughed. "Definitely not." He said. "You?" He asked.
I tried to think.
"No. Before my parents got divorced my mom made mac and cheese every night. We never ate all of it and definitely didn't eat together." I answered.
Daryl looked up at me.
"And after they divorced?" He asked. I smiled.
"After that we didn't have dinner." I said, somewhat laughing.
"So that's why you don't like mac and cheese." Daryl laughed again. I nodded, still smiling.
The front door opened and Shane and a few other people flowed outside.
They searched the barn and around the field.
"What're they lookin' for?" I asked.
Daryl shrugged his shoulders. "You guys seen Lori? We can't find her she's missing." Carol asked, looking up in the tree.
I looked at Daryl and he looked back at me.
"We talked to her in the afternoon." I answered.
"What did she say?" Carol asked.
I sighed and looked up at Daryl again.
"Said she was worried about Rick, and asked us to go look for em." Daryl said before I could.
Carol let out a loud sigh. "And what did you say?" She demanded.
"To find em herself." I said lifting myself back up in the tree.
Carol sighed and walked off, telling the rest of the group that Lori must've gone looking for them herself.
Shane got in a car and left.
"We were right." I said looking up at Daryl.
"This group is broken. Always someone missing." I sighed.
I hopped out of the tree and Daryl followed me back to the fire pit. I sat there, staring into it.
"The fire reminds me of back home." I whispered.
Daryl nodded.
Carol came and sat beside us , and we didn't say anything.
"What're you doing?" Daryl asked. "Just...checking on you guys." Carol answered.
"We ain't babies." I said.
"Maybe if you checked up on your daughter like you check up on us, she wouldn't be lost." Daryl snapped. Carol didn't answer.
"Daryl." I said trying to calm him down. That was too far.
"Go ahead. Yell." Carol said. "Sophia wasn't my problem! I'm done looking for people!" Daryl said, a little louder.
"Daryl." I said louder too.
"No! Ya'll don't get it! I looked for her more than anyone did." Daryl said and he got up and walked away.
"I'm sorry." I whispered to Carol. "Don't be. He's upset." She answered. Carol and I sat in silence for a few minutes until Shane's car rolled back up.
We all stood up and Lori and Shane stepped out of the car.
"Where are they?" Lori asked right away. No one answered. "You told me they got back." Lori said, looking at Shane. "I had to get you back here Lori, for Carl." Shane said.
"You lied." Lori said, stomping away to see Carl.
I rolled my eyes again.
I went inside and waited for the other car to roll up but it didn't.
Beth was still in shock, and we needed Hershel.
"My dad is gonna kick ya'll out still." Maggie said while she continued sitting with Beth.
"We can't leave. Loris pregnant." Andrea said.
I guess everyone knew now. She must've told them.
"You're pregnant?" Carl asked, peeking in the doorway.
Everyone but Carl I guess that is.
"We were waiting for the right time. I'm sorry." Lori said as she turned around, clearly shocked he heard.
"It's okay." Carl said right away.

Night came quick again and I went into the tent. Daryl was already asleep there and I decided to let him sleep. I quietly crawled beside him and closed my eyes.
Would they get back?
