Recording

The next morning Arshi woke up at about 7:30 AM to find a call from Rahul. She was surprised as Rahul usually got up later than her and seeing him call so early tensed her. She called him back immediately. The tension was audible as she asked him,"All good? Are you okay? How did you call up so early. Are you safe? Answer me na.." Rahul was taken aback with so many questions being thrown at him by Arshi. He answered her,"Hey.. Relax. I am okay. I just called you to remind that we have the recording today and then we will have a practice of the set for the upcoming concerts after 4:30 PM (that is when Akshat sir and others are scheduled to come) . So it is better if we go late at about 11:45 AM or 12 Noon instead of 10:00 AM." I just wanted to ask if you will be okay with the new timing?" Arshi was relieved and answered, "Yup. I am okay with the new timing. If you want you can come earlier at about 11:00 AM or so and we can have lunch at my place and then head to the studio. That is only if you are free." Rahul answered,"Always free for you. Will reach at 11:00 AM or earlier. See ya, then. Bye."

Arshi was happy to have Rahul for lunch. She went off to the shower and changed from her night clothes to better Pyjamas and headed to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast of egg and toast and also plan for lunch. As she was done with her breakfast, her cook, Lata Didi arrived and exclaimed, "Aap aaj studio nahi gaye? Acchi baat hai ke aap ruk gaye. Main aaj Jhinga layi hun. Main lunch ke liye bana doon?"(Translation-You did not go the studio? Good that you stayed back, I have got prawns today. Should I make it for lunch?) Arshi replied in the affirmative. She was aware that Rahul loved prawns. She decided that she would make thai prawn prawn along with Noodles for lunch.

She went inside to get her apron and started to work with the prawns and also put the noodles to boil. As she was making the curry, her phone rang. It was Rahul. She picked it up instantaneously and asked Lata didi to put the stove on low flame and check up with the noodle. Rahul asked her,"What are you upto, babe?" Arshi replied,"I am cooking lunch for you. I am making prawns for you." Rahul explained,"Great. I love prawns. Make thai curry if you can. I am so craving for it." Arshi was astonished,"I don't believe the telepathic conversation between us. I am making Thai Green Prawn curry along with noodles.True that I can really read your mind." Rahul smiled,"Yup. We do have a connection between us. That is why I love you. You can understand me and my demands even before it actually comes to my brain." Arshi blushed and replied, I love you too my babe. You are the best. Listen, I need to cook. Come soon. So waiting to see you. Bye." Rahul agreed and disconnected the call after giving her a kiss via the phone.

Arshi smiled at herself and felt grateful for having Rahul in her life. She had tears in her eyes and her moist eyes were an open testimony of their love.

She went on to the kitchen and continued with the cooking. The cooking got over at 10:20 AM and she went on to change. She wore a flowing flowery frock that just reached just below her knees, sprayed on some perfume and dabbed a lip gloss. At about 10:45 AM,she headed to set the table and that is when Rahul just arrived at the door. Arshi was excited to meet him and rushed to the door and gave a tight hug to him. He kissed her lightly on the cheek.

She made coffee for him and  they both sat at the dining table for coffee and chat. They talked and talked till they realized that they had to have lunch and rush to the studio. They had lunch in silence. Rahul loved the food and complimented her repeatedly. She was happy seeing him enjoy the meal. After the food, Arshi left to get ready for the studio. She changed into a pair of palazos and a Kurti. Rahul was spellbound seeing her look so gorgeous. He muttered under his breathe,"You look gorgeous." Arshi blushed listening to the compliment and said,"Aren't we getting late, Mr. Rahul Ved. Hurry up." She packed a pair of track pants for the practice as she might need it.

They left for the studio. The reached at about 12:30 Noon. No one was there and the were supposed to be recording on their own. Rahul was a pro at it and set the studio. They recorded it together. Arshi was nervous as she entered the recording room. Rahul held her hand tightly and nodded,"Don't you worry. I am there with you." That was enough to calm Arshi down. They recorded the entire song in one go. While the recording was on and they were with the headphones, they smiled at each other. That smile was a genuine one and conveyed a million words at once that were hidden within them. Their eyes met and they started singing. Arshi and Rahul rocked it at the first attempt and they were done with all the editing by 3:45 PM. The recording was amazing and they were very happy with the final piece and sent it to Akshat sir. But Akshat sir reached the studio at 4:00 PM and heard it directly on the computer of the studio. He was happy about it. He congratulated Arshi for her first successful recording and then sent it to Manish for mixing and mastering.

The Chai (tea) was served and Rahul, Akshat sir and Arshi had the tea together and conversed.

The band was yet to come.
