Back To Normal

Rahul and Arshi sat in the balcony with their coffee. They both were looking at each other and the communication was through the eyes. Rahul broke the silence, "Arshi, I am so sorry to have misunderstood you. Here you were ready to sacrifice your life by marrying that scoundrel and I thought you were doing it for something else like money. When I think of it now, I feel so small and stupid. I hate myself for what I thought about you." Arshi interrupted, "It is all fine. I did not want you to know the truth and it is normal for you to presume what the possible reasons could be. I never meant to hurt you but I know I did end up hurting you. I wish my irrational fear about Manish replacing your voice in the album would have never crept up or at least I should have confirmed it from Manish, But I did not. I wish I would have done this earlier. I loved you more than ever and I loved you and I promise to love you. I am so happy that we are together." 

Arshi's mother called up, "Arshi, Did you refuse Ishaan's proposal?" Arshi answered, "Yes, Mom. I did. I really don't have the time to explain everything to you now. I shall explain to you later, Mom." Mom pressed more and Arshi annoyingly answered, "Mom, when you were here, I was trying to talk to you about something very important but you were busy with a lot of stuff and so I could not even talk to you. I wanted to inform you about someone." Rahul was sitting close to Arshi and could hear everything. Rahul was happy that Arshi was finally telling her parents about them and hoped that they like him and accept him. Arshi continued, "I am in a relationship and I love him. His name is Rahul Ved." She stammered in between but managed to speak the truth. Mom asked, "Is he the same guy who works with you and Akshat Amit?" Arshi replied in the affirmative. Mom spoke laughingly, "Since how long is this going on?" Arshi replied, "Mom, its been a few months."

 Mom continued, "We will be coming to meet you this week. So, can we meet him too if you guys are free from concerts and studio works." Arshi was very happy. She screamed, "Sure, mom. I shall tell Rahul." Mom continued, "But Arshi, if you loved Rahul, then why did you agree to marry Ishaan? It doesn't make sense." Arshi explained, "Mom, it is a long story. Ishaan wanted to marry me by blackmailing me. He happens to be the cousin if the mix and master engineer, Manish. He blackmailed me telling that he shall replace Rahul's voice in the album, Bhoomi. But we as in me and Radhika with the help of Akshat sir and Amit sir preponed the release to yesterday and we haven't promoted it much, so we were able to outwit Ishaan. He had been here and I told him the truth. He tried to misbehave with me but thankfully I had Rahul, Esha, Anushree and Radhika with me, so I was saved." Arshi was happy to have told her mom and she seemed to have somewhat accepted Rahul and them being together. As Arshi, hung up the call, Rahul hugged her and said, "Finally, both the sides know now. One side has accepted and the other is what I am waiting for. I can't wait to meet your parents. I hope they like me enough to let me have you as mine." Arshi found it very cute, smiled and hugged him back tightly. 

Their coffee was almost cold. They enjoyed each others company. Arshi asked, "Did you tell ma about me and Ishaan." Rahul replied in the negative, I did not want to tell her. You have a great image in front of her and I don't want to spoil that. Arshi replied, "Rahul, I know Ishaan is no more there but it is better that we don't hide anything from Ma and Baba. It will be good if they know. They deserve to know this even though it no longer exists." Rahul was astonished that Arshi was ready to tell the truth even if that may ruin her image. She was a specimen of a kind and Rahul was happy to agree. 

It was already 2:30 AM and Rahul decided to stay back at Arshi's place. No one slept. All sat awake counting stars, talking to each other and fell asleep beside each other in the balcony itself. 

Arshi woke up in the morning as Manish called her up. She picked up and Mansh asked, "You broke off the marriage, right?" Arshi answered, "Yes I did." Manish said, "Good job, Arshi. I am so sorry for what Ishaan did. I had no idea that he was so cruel. I am really happy for you and I hope that Ishaan never again interferes in your life. I shall ensure that." Arshi thanked him for all his help and then disconnected the call. 

Akshat sir had some work and he had called them to the studio at 11:00 AM. It was just 9:00 AM and they had breakfast at Arshi's place. Arshi got ready and they left to Rahul's place at 10:00 AM. Rahul went upstairs to get ready while Arshi and Ma sat down and chatted. They were talking about music, Rahul and everything else. Ma asked Arshi, "Why had you and Rahul not met up since a long time now? So happy to see you both again." Arshi was about to answer but then Rahul came downstairs and said, "Ma, I shall answer that as soon as I am back from the studio. Bye. " Arshi hugged ma and they both left. 

At the studio, they both arrived together and Radhika was waiting for them and Akshat sir to arrive. Radhika questioned, "All back to normal?"Arshi and Rahul looked at each other, smiled and collectively said, "Yes." Both blushed furiously. Akshat sir arrived. They were working on a song called Beech Raaste. They had already started to record the voices. The singers were Nishita Gandhi and Aryan Mallik, both being amazing singers. Arshi and Rahul were co-producing it with Akshat sir and Rahul was also responsible for the recording. It was going on well and the release was in a month. They hoped that it would be awesome. Aryan was supposed to be recording that day and he was to arrive with Akshat sir. 

The recording went well and it was over at about 6:00 PM. After that, they all sat together and gossiped. Rahul, Akshat sir and Arshi were supposed to come the next day too for recording Nishita Gandhi's voice for the song. The day went well and everything was back to normal. Rahul and Arshi left together. Arshi, in the car, said, "All is back to normal. It feels so great to be with you again. Grateful to my stars and our friends. Rahul dropped Arshi at her place and then went back home. After Rahul reached home, they both connected over video call. It all seemed so beautiful and they felt happy. 

At 12:30 PM, they both disconnected after 3 hours. Arshi and Rahul went off to sleep in peace with a smile on their face. Life seemed to have put all its pieces perfectly.
