Midnight call

It was already past Midnight but Rahul was just unable to sleep. His mind was filled with thoughts of Arshi. He was reminiscing all the wonderful time that he had spent with Arshi. He felt grateful to have found true love. He was staring at the emptiness of his room and surroundings, when he lay his eyes on the phone. He took it and opened Instagram, found Arshi's profile. He was busy checking her photos and seeing her smile made him happy. She was such a jovial and goofy girl. He wanted to talk to her and decided to give it a try and rang her up.

Arshi was not in slumber yet .She herself was happy seeing Rahul's name flash on her phone screen. She picked up the call instantaneously and whispered,"Hey! Not slept yet?" Rahul was astonished as she picked up the call and replied,"No, not sleepy at all. Was so immersed in your thoughts that I thought that I could take a chance of calling you way past midnight. How come you have not slept yet? You sleep early as much as I know. I hope I did not disturb your sleep." Arshi blushed listening to his answer,"So you were thinking about me.. Umm...Nice to hear that. I was not in deep sleep and so seeing your name on the screen was enough to wake me up. What are you upto? Rahul answered,"Nothing much. I really wasn't sleepy.just for your information, If you want to skip the studio session tomorrow, you can as you don't have any recording.Tomorrow, we will be recording the Drums, Guitar and the keyboard. It is going to be a long day tomorrow." 

"I don't think I will skip the session tomorrow. I can witness the recording and I can also help you all with the production."

Rahul was happy listening to her reply. Arshi and Rahul shared similar passion and dedication for their music and work. They loved what they did and were great at it  too.

Rahul and Arshi started chatting about all the concerts and gigs that were coming up. They were free for that month only and then they had back to back gigs scheduled. Radhika had sent the schedule the last night and they had over 20 gigs all over the world in the next month. 

Rahul asked," So how does it feel to live the life of a musician?"

"I don't really dislike it. I have learnt to live my life in a suitcase as Akshat sir had said. I still feel homesick at times but then the audience and the excitement of the people just manages to overpower that feeling. It does feel amazing to perform and travel across the world but the truth is home is where the heart is. I have got a lot of help from everyone in the band who accepted me so whole-heartedly and welcomed me with open arms." Arshi replied.

"Great to see you adjust so well. Its true that being a musician has its own pros and cons. I have now turned into an insomniac. The late night studio session have just gotten into my lifestyle in such a way that even when I am at home, I don't feel sleepy until the wee hours of the morning and sometimes,rather most of the time I have to resort to sleeping pills."

Arshi was worried about Rahul,"It is not good that you don't even get complete sleep. Sleeping pills are worse. The fact is that to get some sound sleep, your mind, body and soul need to be at peace. We don't sleep well when we are mentally disturbed and that is not good  at all. Everyone has difficult days but you need to always share your difficulty with someone so that you are not mentally disturbed. You really need to relax a bit. You are always so stressed about everything. Sleeping pills are just temporary solutions but you need to find a permanent solution to this problem. You need to share your issues and difficulties so that you can be at peace and then only you can get sound sleep. It is high time that you give up sleeping pills at least."

Rahul had never thought of it that way. He had always been an introvert and always preferred keeping his problems to himself. Rahul agreed with her and stated,"I never thought that way and now I have you. So I am all at peace and happy. I have finally found someone who has the time and ears to listen to my issues and also provide a solution to them too. I will not take sleeping pills anymore. I promise."

They continued with their conversation. They could not feel how easily the time flew by. They talked about everything over the earth and under the sky. That was their key of the relationship. They never ran out of topics to talk about. 

Time just flew. They talked for hours. Arshi's phone had a notification asking to connect the charger that is when she realized that it was already 6:30 AM and they had spoken with each other for over 3 and half hours. She exclaimed,"Rahul!! It is already 6:30 AM and we have spoken for so long without even realizing it. We have studio session at 11:30 AM. We haven't slept for a minute. It seems as if it is just a few minutes."

Rahul astonishingly answered,"I know right. I could not realize that it was so long. It feels so good to talk to you. Time just flies. I am going to get a cup of coffee. I don't think I can sleep anymore. I suggest you go off to sleep for sometime, Arshi."

"I don't think it is a good idea to go off to sleep now. I am also going for coffee. We an do a video call now, if you are free." Arshi said.

Rahul was more than happy to agree. They went off to grab a mug of coffee and were back within 10 minutes, they again reconnected on a video call. They were happy to see each other. They continued with their conversation. Talking with each other, brought a smile to each others' face. They bushed, flirted and conversed with each other about everything. They hid nothing from each other and spoke their heart out no matter what so ever. They had a little jamming session as the connection was good enough and there was no lag. They sang many songs including some english songs too that they usually did not perform on stage. It was fun.

The video call continued for 3 hours straight and the best part was that there was no network issue. 

They finally disconnected at 9:45 AM so as to get ready for the studio session for the recording of the instruments. Arshi headed to the kitchen to get some more coffee and also prepared some bread toast for breakfast.  After preparing her breakfast, she placed it on the table with some coffee and headed for a shower. It was already 10:30 AM as she stepped out of her shower and got ready. She went for her breakfast that she had placed on the table. After breakfast, she was heading to the kitchen to make some coffee for Rahul when the doorbell rang. She opened the door to find Rahul. She welcomed him inside and headed to the kitchen to make his coffee while he sat in the kitchen stools. They left for studio after coffee. 

They reached the studio to find Akshat sir already there along with Darshan Joshi who came to record the Drums for the song. Darshan  tours with the Akshat Amit band for and thus knew Rahu and Arshi. They were done with the recording within an hour after which he sat with the others for sometime, checked on the recording and left as he had a concert that day along with the band of Sameer Trivedi, a popular singer and performer in bollywood. 

The recording of the guitars and keys went just fine and they were done with it by 8:00 PM. Akshat sir left as soon as the recording was over but Arshi and Rahul stayed back so as to edit the final sound. They always enjoyed staying back in the studio to work. It also meant some extra time for them to talk, chill and have some coffee together. They ordered dinner at 9:30 PM. They had skipped their lunch so were very hungry. 

After dinner, they sat together working on the final piece of music. They were done with it by 12:00 AM. After the work was done, they mailed it to Akshat sir for the final confirmation and they got it immediately.As a reply to that mail, Akshat sir had also mentioned that they will be having their recording the next morning at 10:30 AM. Akshat sir also informed that he won't be coming to the studio the next day and they have to manage somehow. It was not an issue for Rahul as he had faced similar situation earlier too and could manage it easily. 

Rahul dropped Arshi at her place and headed home. As soon as he reached home,they connected on video call again to discuss about the recording tomorrow. This call ended within an hour and a half. Finally, they went off to sleep at 2:30 AM. 

Arshi was excited as it was her first recording and the cherry on the cake was that it was with Rahul. It was not Rahul's first recording but he was himself excited as he would get to record with Arshi. 

They both  were very happy and awaited the next day with all their excitement.
