Love and Music

After a Year

It had been over a year and a half that Rahul and Arshi were together. They spent most of the time together. Anushree had got married to Nakul, and they had a happy married life. They had two marriage parties, one that was a colossal affair wherein everyone from both the sides of the family, relatives, friends and others were called, while the other was a small party consisting of friends only. Rahul and Arshi had performed and danced together at the party that had a few people. They had managed to hide their beautiful relationship from the world around for a year and a half. Their friends had been kind enough not to let anyone know about it and keep it a close secret.

Esha's parents had already started their hunt for a suitable guy for Esha. Esha had been acceptive of the entire arranged marriage thing and had met a few guys but liked none. She was in search of the right one. She had shown a couple of pictures to Rahul and Arshi, and they both didn't like any of them in terms of looks and jobs. Esha was waiting to find the right one. 

Radhika's elder sister got married. Radhika wanted to do something special for them. She had Rahul and Arshi to the rescue who helped her prepare a lovely song and video for the two of them. It turned out perfect. The wedding was great, and everyone from the band attended it. 

Arshi and Rahul's parents had met, and they both seemed to like each other's families a lot. Mom and Ma had a lot of conversations about music, cooking, wedding, clothes, jewellery etc. The fathers also had a great time meeting each other. They met at Arshi's place in an evening and the evening was perfect. Rahul and Arshi too had a great time that evening. Both were happy to see their parents gel well. That reassured them of the relationship, but they were still disapproving of getting married immediately. They both were aware that they both would be beside each other, and it did not make much sense to force themselves into a marriage bond. The parents too were okay and acceptive about it. 

Rahul and Arshi meanwhile had worked a lot. Akshat, Amit sir had got three awards for their background score. Arshi and Rahul had worked in three songs for movies as singers, and then they had eight singles that they released and they were working on three more simultaneously. Their work was at the highest peak. They had great work-life-balance. They worked together and spent most of the time together in the studio. They sat and had productive discussions about music, life and a lot more things over mugs of coffee. They both understood each other more than just loving each other. The strength of their relationship was that they understood, respected and loved each other's work, art and passion. They needed no one else's company when they had each other.

One day, post-dinner, over one of the video calls, Rahul asked, "I don't know why but I feel it is the right time to break the news of our relationship at least to our bandmates. " Arshi too agreed, "I know. I feel the same. But we need to do it in the right way. And we need to do it soon." Rahul nodded and then he started thinking about how and when he could do it. 

He had some plan and hoped that it would work out.
