...a box...

...with Alexander's name on it. Creepy! Wait! How did they find out he's staying with Washington?!

Washington protectively put his hand on front of Alex, blocking him from entering. He slowly walked through the door, checking for any intruders. Once he was sure there was no one else, he motioned for Alex to come in. Alexander walked in, shutting the door behind him. He took a look at the box that sat on the ground right in front of him. He knew he would regret this later, but her picked it and brought it over to the living room. He shared a look with Washington before turning his attention back to the box.

"I have a bad feeling about this." Alex admit. He pulled off the tape and opened it as if a time bomb were inside. When he saw what it was, he scoffed.

"What is it, son?" Washington asked. Alexander angrily pulled the item out the box. It was a Redcoats gang jacket.

"This shit should burn!" Alex exclaimed. He walked over to the fire place and got the fire started. Once he did so, he threw the jacket into the fire. It hurt. It hurt so much knowing is own father wants him to be a part of something so...disgraceful. He was watching it burn, not realizing he was shaking in anger. Hatred coursed through his veins. He then felt a hand on his shoulder, knowing damn well who it was. He didn't pull away or flinch.

"I know it hurts, son. I promise, he won't get to you. I'll protect you." The front door then opened and in walked a Martha Washington. She carried a bag of groceries in her hands and she locked the door.

"Hey, honey." She she greeted her husband. He walked over to her kissing her cheek before helping with the bags she had. She looked over at Alexander and gave him a sweet smile. "Hello Alexander."

"Hey Mrs. Washington."

"Please call me Martha hun, okay?" Alexander nodded. She walked up to him and gave a hug. He was stiff for a moment before he hesitantly wrapped his arms around her. When she pulled away, she wrapped her arm around his shoulder. "I'll take you to your room." She lead him up the stairs and down the hall to his door. "I will give you time to settle in. Dinner will be in an hour and if you need anything don't hesitate to call me. We're here to help you Alex." She walked down the stairs as Alex walked into his room, shutting the door behind him.

The first thing that caught Alexander's attention was something on the bed. It was a laptop and a small white box. He made his way to the bed and then saw a note on the laptop. Alex picked up the note and read it.

Alexander,
Martha and I got you this laptop to help you out with school and this phone so you could talk to friends. We'll see you at dinner, son.
-G. Washington

Alex felt a warm feeling in his chest. He was smiling for real for the first time today. Nobody had ever done anything like that for him before. Not to mention, Washington calling him son in the note really does add more to it. Nope! He still won't admit it!

*Time skip brought to you by an Alexander who's still in denial*

Mr. And Mrs. Washington were now at the kitchen table waiting for Alexander. Deep down inside, they both couldn't help but feel happiness. Usually it would be just the two of them, all alone. They both could admit it was lonely just the two of them. Having a child around made that loneliness decrease and the love in their hearts increase. Heartbreak from the past often holding them back. The miscarriage in which almost killed Mrs. Washington along with the baby. They never got to meet their son. He never got to see the light of day. They tried fostering for some time, but they never found their perfect fit.

"Sorry if I took too long." Alex entered the dining room.

"It's fine Alex. No worries." Washington replied with a caring smile.

"Oh um, t-thank you for the laptop a-and phone." Alex thanked, blushing lightly.

"Of course sweetie." Mrs. Washington responded. She looked looked over at her husband and smiled. He returned the gesture.

After they ate, Alexander went back to his room. His laptop was all set up and ready for him. He began typing away, trying to get as much of his English essay done as possible. He had trouble focusing in every class today...except English. It was the only class that felt normal that day. There was something about that class that made him feel...safe. (*cough* *cough* Washingdad)

*Meanwhile*

"Okay, thank you. Bye." Washington hung up the phone and looked to his wife.

"Who was it love?" She asked.

"The police. They're investigating Adam's place. The school board also knows what happened. They fired Adams."

"I just hope we can keep him safe, George. He's still a child."

"I know. I will do everything I can to protect him. I made a promise."

Chapter 7 is down! How did that box get inside the house, hmm? Adams was fired? Whoa there! What about Mr. and Mrs. Washington's background? Stay tuned for more! Ciao!
