Ch 51: Dinner

Michael's PoV:

"I see you've become more mature than ever." pagngisi ko kay Amber.

Nung sumingit siya sa aming conversation ni Niza, I thought what was she up to? Pero nung makita ko ang napakabiglang pagbabago niya, I was super awed.

I was somehow... proud of her sudden changes. It suits her.

Natawa siya ng malakas, "Well people have to change for the better. Anyway, did you tell her?"

Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay, "About what?"

"About our engagement. You do know your mom is really desperate for us to get married."

True, nakakapagod ngang isipin lagi pero mom is mom and I am me, there's no way in the land of Eden that I would every let Niza go.

Napabuntong ako, "Yeah, I know. But I'm still waiting for the right time."

Nabigla siya, "Are you crazy?? It would absolutely be too late by then."

Jeez bakit lagi siyang may point? Pero paano ko naman ipapaalam 'to kay Niza? Alam kong magagalit siya sa tagal-tagal naming pagkikita'y hindi ko parin 'to nasabi sa kaniya.

She would be flipped.

"How should I tell her? She would be furious."

She rolled her eyes at me, "Uh duh?? Obviously she would. I mean if I were you, I would tell her like right now while there's still a chance."

Tumingin ako sa itaas na bintana kung saan ang kwarto ni Niza and it made me wonder.... how?

Ayo'kong magalit si Niza sa akin, I don't want to see her getting hurt. Gusto ko lang siya laging masaya. Her pretty smile that lits up my entire day, walang iba ang makokompara ko sa kaniyang napagandang ngiti.

But what choice do I have?

Humarap ako muli kay Amber sabay buntong, "Fine, I guess I'll tell her tomorrow."

"Hm, you better should. Anyway, I gotta go, Tyl's waiting for me at the car."

Agad akong nabigla nang marinig ko ang pangalan ni Tyl.

Oh god, am I hearing this right? Amber and... Tyler?? Wha... What??

"Wait, Tyl?"

Tumango siya, "Yeah, why?"

Napangisi ako, "Amber, are you hiding something from me? 'Cause my guts are starting to tingle."

Napatawa siya ng malakas, "Haha silly! Let the time tell you. Bye!"

Pagpaalam niya't lumakad na siya paalis. Napangisi nalang ako sa sinabi niya.

Hmm Tyler and Amber? Not bad... They do look good with each other though.

Babalik na sana ako sa loob pero agad lang ako napahinto nang tinawag ako dad.

"Chael."

Ah shit, what is it now?

Lumingon ako, "Yeah?"

"Come here." saad niya at sumunod naman ako.

Something's off, bakit parang seryoso si dad ngayon? Kanina, he was cheerful. Like awefully cheerful. Masaya nung makilala niya sina Niza, bakit ngayon parang may balak siyang ipapaalam sa akin maaari kong hindi magugustuhan?

Huminto ako sa harapan niya, "What is it dad?"

"In two days..."

Huh? What is he trying to say? Anong meron sa two days?
