I smiled, sheepishly while looking at me with their serious faces. I was sitting alone on the couch while seven of them were standing in front of me. Boys were crossing their arms, and girls were putting their hands on their waists. They were all looking at me, shaking their heads and lips twitching.
Despite the hotseat, I'll probably get later... I couldn't help but be amazed with their behaviors. Look how they agreed on one side. It's nice to see. They're good together...
Silence broke when Cal interrupted its serenity.
"Bakit wala man lang kaming alam dito?"
Mae nodded. I grimaced, though, I was a little surprise because I thought it's the first time she agreed to Cal's words and didn't end up beating each other to death.
"Hindi mo sinabi sa amin? Kahapon pa pala? Kanina? Sana sinabi mo din kagabi!"
My lips protruded when I realized that Mae's right. I could tell it to them sooner and not through this way. I just didn't know Britney's gonna do it today. That's why I haven't had enough time to tell it to them.
Hindi na ako kumibo at hinayaan silang magsalita. I should just keep quiet because I feel like they have a lot of words to say.
"Is that true, anyway? You're no longer a princess?" Wynd asked, brows furrowing.
Tumango ako. "Yes..."
I heard their snarls. Wynd included, surprisingly.
"Why did you resign? Is there something wrong?" Pip's the one who asked.
I sighed. I did rehearsed this answer for a few times already since I decided to tell them about this. So, I know what I’m going to say.
"There's something wrong about how I handle everything. It's not about all of you. It's about me who acts so irresponsible towards everything."
Their eyes widened. Hurricane gasped and looked at me. "Gina!"
I shrugged and bit my lip. "I just realized that this position... isn't for me. It deserves a responsible leader, one that can balance two personas. One that has confidence to rule... One that... can take risks... I’m not like that..."
They all frowned. There are traces of disagreement on their faces because of what I said. I smiled bitterly.
Umiling si Pink. "And you don't have to be, alright? You're doing good, and we're here to help you."
Ngumiti ako. "I know. That's my problem, actually. How long will I be dependent on you all? When will I be brave enough to face everything? One single failure made me think that it's better to just... leave this position and focus on my studies instead. I’m so... weak that instead of learning to be better... I quit..."
Kaagad na umupo si Hurricane sa tabi ko. "Look, Gina... We don't have any problem with your decision. The only thing we're concerned about is that you, not telling us about this, about that, that you're feeling that way, we could've helped you. I mean, we're friends, right?"
I pursed my lips. "I just don't think you could help me with this... It's in myself. If there's anyone who can actually solve this problem? Ako lang 'yon."
Wynd sighed. "Alright. But it could've been better if we're with you along that way, right?"
Tumango ako. Alam ko naman iyon. Now that I have treated them as my family... It's really hard for me to let my position go. But I think I needed to... and I’ll learn through that way. I’m just going to be thankful... because when I joined sovereigns... I've met amazing people.
"Anong plano mo ngayon?" si Mae. "Hindi ka na ba ulit pupunta dito? Sasama sa amin?"
Nag-isip ako saglit. "Well... Possibly. But I can go here and hang out with you guys only if you don't have work, but I don't have any school stuff to do."
