Chapter 1:

NAPAHAWAK sa sarili niyang noo si Celine nang makaramdam siya ng kaonting pagkahilo. Dumapo ang kanyang mga mata sa umiikot na bote sa gitna ng lamesa. Habang umiikot ito ay parang umiikot rin ang kanyang paningin. Tinitigan niya lang ang bote hanggang sa tumigil ang nguso ng bote sa harapan niya.

"Paano ba yan?" Boses iyon ni Dan. Ang malapit niyang kaibigan na bakla. "Celine, it's time for you to take your turn."

Stephanie inquired, "Are you all right?"

Nakabalik na rin ito si Stephanie galing dancefloor matapos makipagsayaw sa isang lalaki roon.

"I'm fine." Kahit hindi siya sanay na uminom ay nakuha pa niyang ngumiti. Celine is determined not to spoil this evening, especially for Stephanie, as it is her best friend's birthday, and she desires everything to go smoothly.

"What type of challenge are you going to take on?" At nag-iisip naman si Dan.

As is customary, they engage in a game of truth or dare.

"Even better, we can dance with various gentlemen around here tonight," suggests Dan.

Dan arranged the gathering at the Gyro Club. Since the three of them frequently embark on food trips and travels together, they collectively chose to mark Stephanie's birthday with a celebration at a club for the first time.

"Have you had too much to drink already?" Concern reflects in Stephanie's eyes. "Alright, let's call it a night. Hindi sanay si Celine uminom pero bakit mo siya pinainom, Dan?" Humarap ito sa kasama nilang si Dan.

Dan simply shrugged his shoulders. "Tayo naman ang kasama niya. In essence, Celine is secure in our company."

"I'm okay... truly." Celine acknowledges that she's struggling to convince both Stephanie and herself that she isn't drunk yet.

"See?" Dan turns to Stephanie and hands another shot of potent liquor to Celine. "You've got to give your life a boost with this shot, girl."

Para maniwala si Stephanie na maayos lang siya ay tinanggap niya ang isang shot ng alak at diritsong nilagok iyon.

Masyadong matapang ang inumin at pakiramdam niya ay matutunaw sa anghang ang kanyang lalamunan.

After finishing it, Celine could sense her stomach grumbling.

"Heto, isang shot pa para naman makalimutan mo ang ex mo."Dan hands another shot of liquor to Celine.

Dahil alam niyang tumitingin lang si Stephanie ay tinanggap ni Celine ang panibagong baso ng alak. Gaya kanina ay diritso niya itong nilagok.

She feels even dizzier.

"Before we kick off the dare game, Celine, let's hit the dance floor!" At kaagad siyang hinila nina Stephanie at Dan patungong dancefloor.

The loud music and the myriad colors of the disco lights intensified her dizziness. The influence of the liquor undoubtedly took a toll on Celine. However, her intention is not to ruin the night, so she dances vigorously with random guys.

Nang magsawa ang kanyang mga kaibigan ay bumalik na rin ang mga ito sa kanilang table. Sumunod na rin si Celine dahil nababastos na rin siya sa bawat lalaking nakakasayaw niya sa dancefloor.

"Are you prepared for your dare?" Dan consistently carries a 'don't be a party pooper' vibe or a 'don't try to kill the joy here' expression. Celine nods in agreement. "I dare you to kiss a guy for ten seconds."

"That's child's play!" Celine laughs. It's quite simple for her since she has kissed numerous guys before.

And who knows? Maybe she can find someone to replace her ex.
