It took me several seconds to absorb the news as I stared blankly at the past Primes standing behind me. I instinctively raised my hand over my heart as if to check if my heart was still beating. Thankfully, I was able to find my voice after what it seemed to be an eternity of silence.

"Am I. . . going to die?"

"Even I cannot tell," my own voice replied from the darkness around me. "Of course, your bloodline still continues to the future. It's just that no one in your future bloodline is worthy of inheriting the Life Core. You are the last Prime, yes; but that doesn't immediately mean that you're going to die. Though death is one of the possibilities, there are still other scenarios that might explain why you are the final Prime of the Life Core. I do not have the ability to pinpoint the exact reason for that. Only time will tell."

"The recent Primes died young," I noted.

"True."

"If I'm not going to die. . . then does that mean that Serafina will succeed in stealing my weirdness?" I asked, panic rising in my voice.

"Like I said, I cannot tell exactly what will happen. I do not have the power of Fate. I only said this to you to serve as a warning for you to be more careful from now on. I know you are fighting in a war, and this news might not be timely considering that you still have other things to think about. Still, don't let this revelation hinder you from achieving your goal. I said that thing to you because I believe that you already have the fortitude to absorb the weight of the heavy truth. You are the holder of one of the most powerful forces in the universe. That in itself should provide enough strength for you to continue fighting."

The Nine Predecessors vanished into the river of green light. As the river suddenly glowed brightly and pushed away the darkness around us, my own voice spoke again.

"When things get too dark, always remember that you are the provider of light. The darkness may consume everything, but it will never conquer the fire burning in your heart. Farewell, Tenth. Be strong."

There was a blinding flash of light and everything was gone.

"SOMEBODY CALL EZEKIEL!"

Crimson's frantic voice snapped me out of my sleep. As I opened my bleary eyes, the wooden ceiling of our common bedroom greeted me. I looked around me and saw that all the bunker beds, along with nearly all the objects in the room, were floating eerily in midair. The lightning markings on my body and probably my eyes were glowing. I was also hovering in midair right at the center of all the floating objects, my arms stretched wide on my sides. At the door stood several people who were watching me in either awe or apprehension.

I took a deep breath and relaxed myself, causing my glow to fade away. As I slowly descended back to the floor, all the floating objects in the room also descended. Someone suddenly held me while I was still lying on the floor. I realized a second later that it was RB.

"What the hell happened to you? Are you fine?" RB asked as he helped me to my feet.

I massaged my throbbing head. "I'm okay. What happened here?"

"Well, I followed you hoping that I could get some meat for dinner. However, you were like being possessed when I got here. It was kinda freaky seeing you in your Prime state while hovering in the middle of madness. You sure you're okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine. . . at least I think I am," I said. "I think I just need some air."

The small crowd gathered at the door parted and in came Ezekiel, gliding through the air as usual. With a flick of his hand, all the misplaced objects in the room arranged themselves or flew back to their original positions.
