Chapter 41: The Lost Island

Ike's POV

The seniors have spent the rest of September pinpointing the exact location of the sunken island. Yvanna also helped them in their search. With the help of Delphina's information and after several satellite searches and initial surveys of the suspected location, they've finally approximated the whereabouts of RB's birth place. They weren't able to get the exact coordinates, but what's important is that we have a lead. We just have to search really hard if we want to find what we are looking for.

Thankfully, Maia agreed to help us. Thanks to her underwater consciousness, she confidently told us that she'd be able to locate the place. Even Ahren volunteered to come with us on our mission. Obviously, he only agreed because he doesn't want his girlfriend to face the possible dangers of our mission without him.

As always, only the most needed people were allowed to join the hunting party. Apart from the two Morph Weirdos and the Evanescas, Faye and Jelal will also come. We might need the former's healing abilities once we return the heart to RB, while we obviously need the latter to deal with all the Dark Magic infesting the place. Cataleya and Tony will also come to help Maia in locating the island. Philip's animal transformation abilities might also come in handy. A couple more NMLEA agents also complete the team. As usual, Yvanna and the surveillance team will have our backs once we're out there hunting for RB's heart.

We're also going to leave early so that we'll have as much daylight as we can. The last thing we want to happen is to be left alone in the middle of nowhere at night. We have to be quick and systematic like usual.

"I'm getting nervous," RB said as we wore our battle suits. "You might lose your wifey if things go terribly wrong today."

"I won't let that happen. Don't worry," I said firmly.

RB just hugged me tightly and rubbed my crotch. "This is why I'm obsessed with you, hubby. Be thankful that you're already wearing your suit, otherwise I would've rewarded you with my buns."

"Keep that thing to yourself," I replied before pushing him away.

The two of us proceeded to the dining hall where the hunting party will gather before leaving. Nearly everyone was already there. Sir Fraeo and Kuya Quentin are the two agents coming with us. The latter's Radar Weirdness might help us find what we are looking for a lot faster.

"I still can't understand why I can't come with you, guys," Crimson said while eating his breakfast.

"Have you ever seen a swimming fox?" Sir Fraeo snapped at him.

"Nah, but I'd still look beautiful while swimming," the Fox Weirdo replied.

His boyfriend just raised his hands and stormed towards the opposite side of the dining hall.

"We have backup forces in case something bad happens," Ezekiel declared to everyone in the hall. "We still don't know what horrible things might be waiting for us in that place, so just expect the worst. Still, we are prepared. Watch each other's back. Stay safe."

Professor Elena opened a portal which led us to the riverbank near the farm. It's still halfway between dark and light. The sun was just starting to rise over the horizon, its first rays pushing away the darkness of the previous evening.

Sound of flapping wings erupted from the direction of the farm. A moment later, we saw a young man with a pair of huge white wings flying above us. He then landed smoothly in front of us, carrying with him a beautiful young lady with a mermaid's tail.

I haven't seen Maia in her mermaid form, but her bluish tail looked really beautiful. Iridescent scales ran from her waist down, eventually ending in a large, majestic tail. Her scales glimmered even in the faint morning light. On her sides were fins extending into long tendrils which embraced her lower body gracefully. Even Maia's face and upper body had several scales.
