Ike's POV

The sun which was just blazing several hours ago is now sinking over the horizon, painting the sky with a blood-red hue. On any other day, I would've paused and took some time to appreciate its beauty, but not today. There are things that need to be done, and we have to be quick because time isn't on our side.

Following the report from Devon, all the members of the Purgers who couldn't fight were evacuated to the Tunnels. All the tunnels connecting Camp Five to other camps had been shut off. Even the main entrance was shut close. Gathering all our forces, we made an exodus from the Terreña Mountain Range and headed towards an empty grassland several miles away from the mountains. This is where we're going to divide and split up before heading towards our respective destinations.

Nearly everyone who could fight came with us, including Matilda. Ahren and Maia have also decided to come after herding most of their farm animals into a safe place to save them from a possible attack. In preparation for the invasion, Ezekiel have sent sudden messages to his connections in the AI, NMLEA, and Emerald, informing them about our incoming attack. It's up to his connections to spread the word. With most of the villains moving out to attack the mountains, Ezekiel assured us that we don't have to worry about leaking information.

"Please find your group!" Ezekiel declared to everyone. "We're leaving in a few minutes. Once you're in your places, wait for our signal. My team needs to free the president first before the other groups can execute their respective missions. Don't dawdle. Please hurry!"

Hundreds of people have scattered across the grassland. Over the distance, just close enough to be seen, was a calm, sparkling sea. It's almost nearing twilight now, and the tension in the air just keeps rising with every passing second. Even RB was silent, using the free time to do some stretching.

A winged guy wearing a black-and-green battle suit, just like what everyone was wearing, suddenly appeared from the clouds. The young man with blown back silvery-white hair flew in circles above us before landing gracefully a short distance from Ezekiel. Tucking his enormous angel wings behind him, Ahren approached the youngest Evanesca.

"The villains have arrived," the winged weirdo declared. "Most of them are converging on the eastern side of the mountains. There are thousands of them. Serafina and Jaeron were leading that massive group. I've also seen villains on the western side of the mountains. There are also people near the farm. They're moving exactly according to the battle plan."

"What do they have with them?" Ezekiel asked.

"Military weapons. They're going to bomb the mountains. I've seen several combat helicopters approaching the place," Ahren replied.

The guy in black almost laughed, but he was able to dilute his reaction into a satisfied smirk. "Those idiots. . . Well, everything is going according to the plan! We've left enough dummies in the place just to fool them for as long as possible. We're good to go!"

Ezekiel turned to me. "I believe these people need some inspiring words before we finally part ways. Be quick."

"Do I really have to?" I said.

The guy in black just pushed me.

I took a deep breath before facing all the people. "First off, I want to thank all of you. The past few months had been rough and difficult, but you still chose to stay here and fight with us. I will be forever indebted to all of you for putting your own lives in danger just to help our cause. Without you, the rebellion would've been crushed a long time ago. These words will never be enough to compensate for all your sacrifices, but thank you very much."

"This fight isn't about me," I continued. "This is not just about you. This fight is for the millions of people out there who are currently suffering from injustice, cruelty, and abuse. Somewhere out there, a child is grieving for the loss of his beloved father who only stood up for what is right and just. Somewhere out there, someone is being oppressed and maltreated because they don't have magical blood. Somewhere out there, someone is waiting for her loved one to come back home. This fight is for them. Let's fight for them."
