(Your name) had noticed the lack of work that was happening today, and confused her greatly. It was well into the evening and everything should've been up and running hours ago, but nothing's happening today.
Eri was still in her room at this time, which was incredibly unusual. Kai wasn't in his office. Kurono was no where to be found. No phone calls that came through to Kai's office were being answered. Needless to say, it was an unusual day in the Hassaikai.
(Your Name's) POV
I navigated navigated through the various halls as I looked for anything that could explain the mystery of today. I peaked inside Eri's room to see she's still sleeping, which was odd.
'Kai's normally well into his experiments right now. What's going on? He never gets off schedule.'
I quietly shut her door and left her to sleep soundly. I made my way to Kai's office and knocked on his door. I waited for a moment to see if anyone would answer.
Nothing.
I opened the door and looked around the room, only to see it was vacant. I shut the door as my face twisted in confusion.
'What the hell is going on today?'
I navigated around the building a little longer, trying to find a trace of anyone, only to come up empty handed.
Until I heard voices coming from the common room.
"What the hell do we do with him?!?!
'That sounds like Irinaka.'
"Does it look like I know?"
'And there's Kurono.'
Relieved that I finally found someone around here, I quickly made my way into the room, hoping for an explanation. Irinaka's back was facing towards me, but I could see that there was a bundle squirming in his arms. He let out various groans in annoyance as, whatever it was, is currently fighting to get out of his grasp.
