Feelings For Each Other

I didn't plan on updating, but I'm currently up at 4:00 a.m. so what else am I supposed to do😅

ALSO I changed the way I wrote the reader insert. Instead of doing Y/N or E/C I'm doing (Your name) or (eye color). And anything that's surrounded by this ' ' and are in italics are the character's thoughts.

Warnings: OOC Kai, is fluff a warning?

~Y/N's POV~

A lot has been going on with the Hassaikai recently, and I think it's starting to get to the young leader.

1) Overhaul is getting closer to ridding the world of their "disease" with his quirk erasing bullets, but the heros always manage to get in the way. So whenever he takes a step forward the heros seem to make him take 2 steps backwards.

2) Eri isn't making his job any easier. She tries to run away from the Hissaikai causing his scheduled experiments on her to be pushed back.

Those are the major things that stress him out, but the minor annoying things that go on in headquarters just add onto Overhaul's stress. Like Rappa and his constant nagging for fights.

I try to help relieve his stress by keeping Eri in her room, or looking over the heaps of paperwork. I can try as hard as I can to reduce his workload, but he's surely going to reach his limit soon.

~Timeskip to night time in Eri's room~

Once I finished working, and Eri is finished with her tests throughout the day, I told Eri I'd sit in her room and read to her so she can fall asleep. I'll change into more comfortable clothes, like an oversized shirt and some shorts, Eri would pick out a book, and I'd sit with her on the bed and read aloud.

Tonight's tests with Eri ran a lot long than they usually do, due to Overhaul's stress levels being so high. Due to the prolonged process, Eri's mood was at an all time low. So, despite how tired I was, I agreed to read to her until she fell asleep. And that's exactly what I did.

"...And they lived happily ever after."

I closed the book and looked down at Eri, who had stopped moving around and became quiet. I saw that she was currently laying curled up in my lap, sleeping peacefully. The somber exspressions she had on her face was replaced with one filled with peace. I carefully tucked her into bed, and gently kissed her forehead careful not to disturb her slumber.

"Goodnight Eri."

My feet hit the cold tiles causing shivers to go up my spine as I made my way out the door. I let out a yawn as I softly closed Eri's door, and I checked the time.

2:45 a.m

I sighed as I read the time, knowing I would wake up a zombie in a couple of hours.

As I exhaustively trudged back to my room to finally get some much needed sleep, I noticed a light coming from underneath one of the bedroom doors.

I was going to make my way past it, but I heard a loud 'BANG' and what I recognized to be the frustrated voice of Overhaul also followed by a string of incoherent words.

I've always seen Overhaul as calm and collected. Even if he was pissed off his face would never show it, but his actions sure as hell did. I've never seen him lash out at anyone, except for when he overhauls one of the expendables, but even then his face holds no emotion. If he wants to get his point across, all he has to do is start to take off one of his gloves and anyone will instantly shut up. So hearing this coming from his room concerned me.
