When He Gets Embarrassed

Although it was subtle, Kai never let his gaze leave you for the past few days.

If you had just been leisurely walking by, you never would've noticed his eyes lingering on you. It would've looked like he was minding his own business, but if you stopped and actually stared at him, you could see that he was staring at you rather intently.

Ever since you had been taken away from him a couple nights ago, he's been watching you like a hawk. Of course, no one else could tell, but the poor man was really on edge.

As of right now, you're laying in fluffy comfort of your lover's bed. Kai had given everyone a few days off. He said it was so that you could calm down after the incidents of the other night-which technically isn't a lie-but those days were actually set aside for Aku's torture sessions until they decide to actually end his suffering later on in the week.

You had happily woken up to your own devices, and not by some pesky alarm clock. To make it even better, you were in the arms of your lover. Your cheek rested comfortably against his firm chest as your frame curled into his. His strong arms wrapped protectively around your waist, pulling you closer to his body.

A fond smile appeared on your lips as your (eye color) orbs travelled up to your lover's features. His usual cold, stoic expression is replaced with one of pure bliss and tranquility. Those beautiful amber eyes of his were hidden behind his eyelids as his lips parted slight to let out slow and steady breaths, his chest rising and falling in the same steady pattern. You place a light, loving kiss onto his cheek before you start to get out of bed. Being careful not to wake him, you slowly took his arm off of your waist and gently rested it on the sheets.

A small shiver ran down your spine as the soles of your feet hit the cold, hardwood floor. The soft fabric of Kai's oversized shirt went to your knees as you stood and made your way to the bathroom that was connected to the bedroom. After turning on the light, a giggle escaped your lips as you caught sight of your messy (hair color) hair. You merely shrugged, since you were going to deal with it later, and picked up your toothbrush. You squeezed the minty toothpaste onto the soft bristles of the brush and began to brush your teeth.

After the events of the other night, Kai had you sleeping in his room every night. You didn't feel like making the walk back to your own room just to brush you teeth, so you simply decided to bring it with you to save yourself the journey.

As you continued to brush your teeth in the bathroom, you hadn't noticed that your lover began to stir awake. Whenever you and Kai sleep together, he always manages to subconsciously find you and pull you closer to him. Some nights, you would fall asleep on opposite sides of the bed, but you always find yourself in his arms when you awoke the next morning.

So obviously, once he felt nothing but the cool sheets beneath his arm, he was alarmed. His amber eyes immediately snapped open and he quickly sat up. Panic had started to set in until he heard the sound of the faucet running, and you happily humming, in his bathroom. He heaved out a sigh in relief as he figured you were merely brushing your teeth. Tossing the blankets off of him, he let out a yawn before making his way into the bathroom with you.

You swished the mouthwash around your mouth for a few seconds before spitting it out in the sink. As you turned the water back on to rinse out the mix of mouthwash and saliva, you felt something snake around your waist. A soothing source of heat began to radiate onto your back as you felt something bury into the nape of your neck. Your eyes travelled up to the mirror, and a smile instantly appeared as you found Kai holding you in his arms. His head slowly travelled to where his chin rested comfortably on your shoulder. A giggle left your lips as you felt his hair tickle your ear.
