once i made it back to the pit, i quietly crept back into my room and got ready for bed. it was currently 11pm and i wasn't completely tired yet.

i decided to try and lay in bed and get tired hoping maybe to fall asleep.

nothing.

my feet swung over the side of my bed and i pushed myself up. i opened my door and shut it behind me. i walk a few doors down and knocked on max's door.

"come in" i hear his muffled voice say.

my hand twists the nob and i enter. he has red lights lit up in his room while he's studying a case file. he folds the file closed and sets it aside.

"hey max" i sigh and sit down. we used to have midnight talks all the time but recently we haven't been seeing much of eachother. and on top of that athena is in another state right now.

"hey, what's up?" he asks.

"i miss you, and i feel like we haven't talked in forever." i admitted. max's eyes soften.

"i miss you too." he said. i reaches his arms out and wraps me up in a hug. i needed this. max and i are like brother and sister but we almost never hug.

"let's catch up" he says. i smile.

max and i catch up with what's been happening. i cant say much due to blaines wishes, but we still talk about everything.

i know before i leave that gotta get him to come with me. i cant leave him behind.

i was told to be ready by noon sharp. it's now 11:57 am and i'm waiting in the pit to be escorted up to see blaine.

i finally learned the two five stripes names by the way. kane and sam.

as soon as the clock strikes noon kane and sam come in on que and i stand up.

"you ready?" sam asks me and i nod. i follow behind them and up the stairs.

once we had entered blaines office we all sat down.

"okay so you guys obviously know what this meeting is about. we're going to go back and fourth with ideas about how to reach the end goal." blaine starts.
"who would like to go first?" blaine asks.

"i actually thought up a really good plan." i speak up quickly but calmly.

"do tell." blaine places his elbows on his desk and leans forward.

"so there's a smaller gang carrying out a heist in a few weeks at the warehouse on 5th. as we all know the wranglers are basically the do-gooders of the community. so i can confirm this, but i'm 99% sure that they're sending a small group of their members to intersect.

i say we take their plan and turn it around on them. we intersect except we intersect them. we will also have that smaller gang on our side so we won't have to risk as many members as usual. and we can put a significant dent in their gang. especially since ethan's going on every mission." i explain.

"that sounds.....very methodical. you've obviously planned this out and with lots on consideration. i like it. i think being able to send less people would let us have a better chance of making sure the wranglers don't have a chance to kill us off as well." blaine then pauses looking back at us.

"i want to be there though....i want it to be my bullet piercing into ethans body. so when we get to that point.....i'll be the one shooting at him." he says with coldness.

what a sick bastard. this better work.

"very well done alex. we're going to need you to help plan out what we need to accomplish within the time frame we have. so with that being said, make sure you're up by noon everyday. i'll give you the passcode to the office since i'll be in here as well. you'll have limits but we need you for this to work."

i nod and internally let out a breath of stress filled air.

later that night

i decide to text ethan because i need to tell him the plan is a go.

me- the plan is a go. when are you telling wranglers?

ethan- meet at the alley. we can go back to the house from there. i think any further planning needs to involve the rest of the gang.

me- okay.
me- 20?

ethan- yep.

i grab my trusty black jacket and slip out of the pit with ease. i've snuck out so many times that it's become very easy. i only ever use the hatches in the pit wall when there's lots of people around.

after 20 minutes of walking in the shadows, i carefully slip into the alley and see ethan waiting for me.

"hey stranger" i softly say with a small smile.

"hey. you ready to go?" ethan asks. i nod my head and he leads me back to his place.

when we make it back, he puts in the code to the garage door and opens it, leading him and i into the house.

here goes nothing...

A/N: HIIIIIIII ok so i keep getting so many good ideas for this book and i'm very very sure it will be a longer one. maybe the same length as i miss you. idk yet. but i hope you're enjoying. :)))
