3: Friends

I wake up from sleep to see that it was 6:50 in the morning.

Shit! I'm late. I hurriedly ran to the washroom, quickly washed up and changed into my outdoor clothes.

I wore a white T-shirt with a pair of blue denims. I half tucked the T-shirt in the front and wore a light maroon long shirt on top. I tied my hair to a messy humans wore my outdoor rimmed glasses.

I quickly made myself a breakfast with the leftover rice from the yesterday night, some kimchi and a fried egg. As I finished my meal, I made myself a cup of coffee in a portable Thermocup and packed my bag for class in a few minutes.

I hurriedly wore my black wedge boots and rushed to reach for the subway. Luckily I reached the class with 10 minutes to spare.

I went inside and sat in my seat, when a familiar face with a box smile came running towards me.

I look up to see that it was my best friend, Kim Taehyung. The handsome and famous K-pop idol from Geochang. I knew him from way before high school. We tell each other anything and everything in our lives.

Though being his BFF has some pros and cons of it's own. He does not have a rich dad, so my dad always nags me. And then all the girls in our university always disturbed me to set them up with him.

But then again, whenever I am down, he is the one who always perks me up with his cute smile, cheeky antics and wise words. So, I never left him.

He said,

"Hey, Taerim-ah! What's up?"

I sarcastically said,

"The ceiling."

Taehyung just gave a long grin and said,

"Haha! Very funny."

As he said that, he sat at the seat right beside mine. I looked at him and saw that he was looking at me with lots of innocence and cuteness in his eyes and spoke in his deep voice,

"Taerim-ah! Aren't you my best friend?"

As he said that, he cupped his own cheeks with his hands and leaned towards me with his big big eyes.

I knew something was up in his mind. I gave a finger flick on his forehead, which caused him to go back to his position while holding his forehead and groaned a bit. I then asked,

"You only act overly cute when you need a favour. So, spill it now. No need to beat around the bush."

He then came to a normal position and while holding my left hand in his own, he asked,

"Fine. Can't I bring my friends to your café please?"

I hit his hand with my free one and replied,

"First of all, it's not my café, it's a senior friend's. And second of all, since when did you have friends to bring to the café, huh?"

He then had a confused look on his face. But he shook it off with a shrug and said,

"You know that I've been in a boy band since before high school."

I thought for a while and said,

"Oh, yeah! BTS, right?"

Taehyung started to scratch his neck and said,

"Yeah. We are about to have our fifth anniversary. And they told me to find a spot for the party. Can't you you help me out? Please!"

I can see the earnestness in his eyes. So, I gave up to his request and said,

"Fine! When is it?"

His eyes beamed with joy as I agreed to his request. He bowed multiple times and kept thanking me.

Maybe he thought that I'll say no and maybe I was his last resort. He replied with a guilty tone,

"13th June. Can you manage that? We will only need a corner table."

To cheer him up, I took a big grin on my face and said,

"What do you mean? I'll book you the whole 2nd floor if I have to. I'll fill it up with all your favorite games and foods. You can also invite people from your company. After all, it's my best friend's boy band's fifth anniversary!"

He got so happy hearing that he gave me a tight hug.

I was so happy. As I manage the cafè now, I know that there won't be any events on 13th June. So, I thought that maybe I should go out of way a little bit for this time and do something for my best friend.
