23: The Babo Friends

The whole day went as usual. But then some stuff have changed. At past, I would just stay in the library or the computer lab and eat the snack I bought from the closest provision store.

But now I now have lunch with the 5 members of BTS in the cafeteria. We often talked about whatever happened in our daily lives. But I have been thinking about whether or not I should ask Taehyung about something that has been wandering in my mind. I finally plucked up all the courage within me and asked,

"Did you, by any chance, talk with Seokjin yesterday after you went back?"

He choked on his soup as soon as he heard Seokjin's name.

He did talk with him! Babo! ("Fool" in korean)

I passed him my water bottle and saw that the others were giving each other the "What do we do now? " stares. Taehyung drank the water and spoke,

"H- how did you know?"

I sighed and told them whatever happened after closing the café and walking to home.

I didn't worry about explaining the previous incident. Because, I had already told Taehyung about all that happened at the cliff. And with the slippery mouth that he has, he must've told the others about it already.

They all sighed as some even face-palmed themselves. I saw that Hoseok again had one earphone in his ear. So I just said by instinct,

"Hoseok, keep the phone on the table."

He just grinned in guilt and put it on the table. And, as I had guessed by my instinct, Yoongi's call was active on it with loud speaker.

"I mean, can you believe this?"

I said, while looking at them. Then Yoongi spoke,

"Look, maybe he thought that you will never give him your phone number if he had asked you, based on the way you behaved with him since the day of the event. So, while charging your phone, he may have thought that he should just leave his number in it silently without letting you know."

Well, it did kind of made sense.

The first time I met him, I rarely talked at first and even indirectly kicked him out of the café after the event ended.

Then, the next time I met him, he was being so harsh to me that I hit him in the groin and verbally bruised him every time he spoke with him.

It was pretty obvious that he didn't want to ask me for the number. Because he wanted to protect himself from being hurt.

Now, I feel guilty. I just looked at Taehyung and asked,

"Did he ever ask you about my personal life?"

He looked at me with guilt visible in my eyes as he replied,

"Yes. Well, I can't lie to him just like I can't lie to you. When you weren't here, he really did help me out with a lot of stuff in my life. He always fulfils all our needs and also cares and worries for us like our mother. He's a really sweet guy, Taerim-ah. He can't tolerate having someone mad at him."

Now I get why he was being so apologetic to me. Because he finally understood that I was rather the bigger victim in this incident. But I also felt bad for traumatizing him. Namjoon asked,

"What's wrong, Taerim-ah? You look... dull."

I just looked at him with apologetic eyes and said,

"Now I feel bad. All I did want was to let him know that I did not want to marry him but... what have I done?"

I just covered my face with both my hands in shame and regret. Then Jimin suddenly said,

"Then just say sorry to him."

I immediately looked up at him with a shocked face and blurted out,

"NO! I can't!"

I could see that Jimin, Taehyung and Hoseok had almost jumped out of the table in horror of my sudden response as the plate in Namjoon's tray slipped to the floor and shattered into pieces and Jungkook choked on his Corn Dog.

I just took a gulp on my own saliva out of regret as I realized what had just slipped out of my mouth. I then nervously explained,

"I mean, Well, if I start to be so soft towards him out of nowhere he may think that I maybe have feelings for him. It can also lead him to misunderstand me, thinking that my dad may have somehow convinced me to marry him and stuff. So..."

They all let out a sigh of relief as Jungkook said,

"Well, you can't break your deal with hyung as well, noona. It's okay if you wanna go slow. Just don't go on mentioning the groin incident all the time. Unless he'll behave like a jerk."

I looked at them with a shy look and I saw that they all agreed to it. Then Yoongi spoke,

"He's right. Take it slow. He'll come around, Taerim. Trust me."

I then let out a sigh of relief and then we all started to giggle.

I don't like it when people think of me as a distant and rude person. I'm not like that at all. I always try to be very nice and polite to people around me. But I just tend to act out when people tried to invade my personal space and decisions all of a sudden without my consent. I may be straightforward, but I'm not cruel.

But I'll have to prove that to Kim Seokjin.

[A/N: well... that was a cutesy convo between Taerim and the guys. And why not... they are some of the sweetest and mannered men I have ever seen. And again, is it a lie though??? That Seokjin is actually an adorable and gentle man. He may be a little harsh for bad behavior, but he, soon enough, due to being a mature man, realizing whoever was at fault and comes ahead to resolve it all. he is not the Makhyung or the eldest of the team.

and then, we all know how much the guys support and love Seokjin. They really know how much important for the team, even though he himself feels that the group lacks in performance because of him (WHICH IS NEVER TRUE!!! I MEAN, THE AMOUNT OF TALENT NECESSARY TO GET IN THIS GROUP IS IMMENSE AND TO BE ABLE TO HAVE THAT... EVEN THOUGH YOU NEVER LEARNT DANCING BEFORE, IS A LOT). That makes me believe that they are a family together for more than 10 years now.

And now, I can completely assure you that Taerim will, from here, will be starting to get Seokjin.
