21: The Dream Team

I looked at Hongjoong as he pulled out his phone from his jeans pocket. I looked over at the wall clock behind me for a second. It was 7:15 PM.

I looked back at Hongjoong to see that his face was now suddenly lit a smile. But the matter of consideration is that, this is not the smile he usually has most of the time. My subconscious mind suddenly spoke up,

Something must have happened. And it must be good.

As I was thinking about the possible cause is the smile, I didn't even notice that Hongjoong was now looking at me with confusion clear on his face. I broke the stare and spoke with a little sarcasm in my tone,

"What is it?"

Then I hear Hongjoong ask,

"Huh, what?"

I just scoffed and had a smirk on my face as I said,

"You only get a grin that big on your face when something good happens. So, what is it?"

He was staring at the floor for a while as his ears were turning pink. He then shouted out in excitement,

"I MADE IT TO THE NEW TEAM!!!"

I couldn't even believe what I just heard. I just gasped in awe and blurted out,

"Really? You're not mocking, are you? Is it a bluff?"

He just nodded a no as he held me by my shoulders and said,

"It's not a bluff, noona. It's true. Me, my 4 friends and one of our co-trainees, Lee Junyoung finally made it to the group. They will have another audition for outer agency members in 2 days. BUT WE MADE IT NOONA!!"

I just hugged him in excitement and happiness and jumped for a few seconds with him.

I knew how much he wanted to debut in this new team and how hard he had worked for this. He would always call me late to check his practice videos, song lyrics and rap recordings to critically judge them for him, so that he can improve himself. He also took a 2 week long leave from the cafè to prepare for the casting audition. I went to his practice studio everyday of his leave while coming back from the campus.

So I knew all his frends that he was talking about. I could not help being happy for them as well. Because I also helped them a little and saw them prepare for the casting audition. Suddenly I spoke as I remembered something,

"What about Wooyoung and Yeosang? They'll take part in the next casting audition, perhaps?"

He then nodded a yes and spoke,

"Yeah. They have already left their previous company and are preparing for the casting audition. So, fingers crossed that they will make it."

Then I got an idea. I said,

"Bring the guys to the cafè after the final casting audition. I'll treat the whole team. It's on me."

Hongjoong's eyes glittered in happiness as he spoke with amazement in his tone,

"Really? You don't have to do that though."

I could see his eyes lose its glitter as he said the last sentence. I was hurt. So I spoke,

"Why not? I know that each and every guy who will join the team completely deserves this. Because hardworking people like you are getting in it. Come on! I know you all like the BBQ Chicken Wings and Choco Oreo Shake here. It's to celebrate your success."

Well, the main purpose was that. But I had a secret purpose in my mind.

To see Park Seonghwa.

I know it's weird that I am all head over heals for a guy who is 3 years younger than me. But what can I do if the guy is so good looking and sexy at the same time that I always go weak in my legs.

As I thought of the way Seonghwa held me in the sidewalk a few hours ago, I could not help but have a wide grin on my face. Hongjoong touched my shoulder and asked,

"Noona, what's wrong? Why are you smiling so big?"

I rubbed the smile off my face and replaced it with a careless look as I felt embarrassed about my unusual grin and said,

"It's for your success."

I had to lie about it. Well, no one in this world knows about this. I will try my best that no one does.

Because he is my desire.

As the clock struck 11:00, as per to the daily routine; I bid everyone adieu, closed the cafè, and was walking walking to my apartment.

Suddenly, my phone vibrated. I took it out to see that I had a message. I opened my phone to see what it was and got shocked by it.

Seriously though, if someone, even Seonghwa or Seokjin dares to touch my phone without my permission, I will literally break their fingers off. Cuz I'm really sensitive about my phone.

You will get the reason why Taerim went OMG over Seokjin touching her phone. Look forward to that. And then again, Park Seonghwa!!!!

The new logbook came and him eating Ramyeon made me feel better. Because at a point of 2020, for the Inception promotion period, he literally only ate brown rice and chicken breasts for 3 months straight. He was craving Tteokbeokki and Ramyeon so badly. He could've eaten at the coffee truck live, but he literally avoided that. Seeing him happily eat Ranyeon and Hamburger made me feel full.
