"Wanwan? Is that you?"
Wanwan's POV
W-what...? That voice... sounds awfully familiar...
I felt the person's grip loosen a little. I took this chance to back away and point my crossbow towards the person. I panted due to the sudden capture just now. The person in front of me dropped his sword and slowly walked towards me. My crossbow was ready, ready to fire anytime.
"Hey! Dont you remember me?!" The person asked. I looked up at the face and took in his appearance. Dark hair that turned purple at the end. His hair was parted, his jawline was sharp. He was wearing a yellow jacket and black jeans along with a red belt. Shit... theres that feeling again... Do I... do I know this guy??
"W-Who..?" I managed to sputter out.
The person sighed and sat down. Now both of us are sitting down on a rooftop of a building under the starry sky.
"You really dont remember me, huh?"
"W-Will you stop this and just tell me your name?!" I said, still aiming my crossbow at him.
"Cyan Finch, Ling. Your childhood friend."

No one's POV
S.A.B.E.R was on their way to the V.E.N.O.M headquarters when Layla stopped dead in her tracks, looking concerned.
"Layla? Whats wrong?" said the Saviour, Rafaela.
"Its just.. was it really a good idea to leave the task to Wanwan? I mean, she's only a marksman, whos against an assassin!" Breacher Layla said.
Saber replied without hesitation. "Do you really have no faith in her? Right now, she's the most elite agent we have. And dont underestimate her mobility. She can easily dodge attacks, remember? Dont worry too much."
That made Layla feel slightly better. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves. She just didnt want her friend to get hurt, all by herself.
"No... I need to focus on VENOM now..." Layla thought to herself, getting ready her canon.

Ling's POV
After all these years... I finally meet her. My childhood friend who I... betrayed back then...
"L-Ling..? You?" She said, lowering down her weapon. She still looks dazed and confused.
I sighed. "Yes, its me. How do you not remember me?"
"N-no... its just... why did you leave me back then?" She asked, somewhat sadly, looking down.
Shit, I'm not good at conversations.
"Look, I know you wont forgive me. But its all in the past. So-"
"You expect me to just get over it?! Do you even know how I felt?! Having my only friend leave me behind to fight off those enemies!" she snapped. I was taken aback by this. Wanwan... wasnt like this back then.
"I wasnt running away. I was trying to get help. After all, two against many? We stood no chance at all." I explained. The anger in her eyes didnt disappear.
"But still...!" Her voice cracked. She was trembling. Soon enough, she was crying. Tears were rolling down her cheeks and were falling onto the ground.
"I-I was waiting for you to come back! All these years! A-Always! And you never did!!" she said through her sobs.
"Look, I'm really sorry for back then. I was a jerk, I know." I said, putting my hand on her shoulder. I could feel her tense up abit, but soon relaxed. She choked and sniffed, still crying.
Then, my body moved on its own. I brought my hand to her cheek, wiping away the tears with my thumb. She looked up in surprise, but I kept my hand there. Crap, why am I doing this?!
We stared at each other for god knows how long. Soon, she smiled. Then giggled. And soon enough, was laughing. I took my hand away, confused.
"S-Sorry... You just... you still look kinda pretty!" She said, smiling happily. I felt my face go hot.
"O-Oi! Still immature Wanwan, huh?" I replied, patting her head. Before I knew it, we were laughing together. I wish we could stay like this forever.... but nothing lasts.
Wanwan's expressions immediately changed. She looked somewhat upset over something.
"Whats wrong?" I asked her. There was that face again, that sad, lonely face.
"I-I dont know what to do now... I... I was tasked to capture you and bring you to the SABER headquarters, but.."
Shock took over me. After many years, we meet finally. But now, we have to part again...?
We both stayed silent for a while. I looked up into the sky, seeing all those bright starts shining down on us.
I was such a jerk back then. I dont deserve anything. I... dont deserve Wanwan..
"Well, do it then." I said, breaking the silence.
She stared at me, confused. "W-what? What are you saying?"
"Its what I said. Do your job. Capture me. I kinda deserve it anyways. And I'm unarmed. " I looked behind me, at my blade that was dropped just now.
"Now's your chance. Better not waste it." I said, lifting both my hands up.
"No."
What? I looked at her. She stared back, full of determination.
"I dont care if I lose my role as an agent. I dont care if I get fired. I dont care if I lose everything. Because... I dont wanna lose you again.." She replied, still looking at me. Her forehead creased. Then, everything seemed to go in slow motion.
Wanwan came up to me, wrapping her arms around my neck. She buried her face into my neck.
She hugs me.
"W-Wanwan..? What are you-" I asked, but was interrupted.
"I know I'm hugging a criminal who's killed dozens. But I'm also hugging my friend. My only friend. My best friend. My childhood friend." She said, face still buried. I hesitated, but retuned the hug.
Still hugging me, she said, "I dont want to have to lose you again, Ling. Never. Dont leave me alone again. Promise me you'll stay with me. Always." she lets go and looks at me in the eyes, tears in her eyes.
I couldnt help but smile.
"I promise."
