When Crossbow Meets Blade

Chapter 36

"Chang'e!" Zilong shouted as he quickened his pace. Just as Luo Yi was about to cast another magic attack on the weakened Moon Palace Immortal, Zilong leaped in front of Chang'e, shielding her from Luo Yi's magic.

Chang'e gasped in surprise. "B-Big Bro! Are you o-okay?!" she asked with concern all over her face. Zilong only grinned at her and gave her a thumbs up.

"Come on. Attacks like these dont affect me at all." He said with such confidence, turning his head to look at the Yin-Yang Geomancer, who was now staring at him in shock. She was dumbfounded at how her magic did not even affect him in the slightest.

Zilong kept his grin and stood up, making sure Chang'e is blocked from any attacks. He then raised his spear and looked directly as Luo Yi.

"Well? Are you not gonna fight? Too weak, maybe?" he taunted her.

Rage boiled inside of her. In an instant, she raised her hand and casted her magic, marking him with Yin and Chang'e with Yang, which pulled them together. "S-shut up! You imbecile, shall never see the light of day again!!"

Zilong quickly recovered from the stun, once again standing up and protecting Chang'e, who was on the verge  of fainting.

"I-impossible! No one has ever survived my attacks..!" Luo Yi thought, anxiety and panic welling up inside of her. She started to shiver, not taking her eyes off Zilong.

Zilong took a step towards her, making her take a step back in fear. The fear inside of Luo Yi was increasing. She started to tremble, sweat trickling down her face.

"Die!" Luo Yi shouted, raising her arm to cast an attack.

Nothing happened.

Luo Yi flinched. Her arm remained in its position, but started to tremble. She felt frozen. Paralysed. 

Zilong smirked at her and said, "Looks like youre out of mana, mage."

"H-Huh...?" Luo Yi replied with trembling lips. Fear was written all over her face.

Charging towards her at full speed, Zilong pointed his spear at her and shouted his famous line,

"Heroes never fade!!"

Before Luo Yi could plead for her life, Zilong finished her in an instant. She fell onto the ground, her strength almost depleted. She used what was left of her strength to look at Zilong and ask,

"W-who are you...?"

Zilong smiled a genuine smile, answering her question. He pointed to himself and said,

"I'm the Son of the Dragon."

Luo Yi, satisfied enough with the answer, soon passed out.

Not  wasting any time, Zilong rushed over to Chang'e, who was waiting for him.

"Big Bro! Is she... dead?" She asked, hugging him. He hugged her back and patted her head.

"Dont worry. She wont hurt you anymore." With that said, he picked her up and carried her on  his back, aware of the fact that her crescent moon was shattered all over the floor.

Zilong rushed over to Baxia, who was just regaining consciousness. He grunted as he placed his hand on his forehead, recovering from his headache.

"Baxia! You okay?" Zilong asked, kneeling down beside him.

Baxia nodded his head, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, man. What do we do now?"

Zilong quickly explained the situation to Baxia and Chang'e as fast as he could as to not waste any more time. They soon got everything in their head.

"So basically... we have to distract that big scary man so Big Sis Wanwan... can go back to herself?" Chang'e summarised.

"Yeah, and once he's distracted, even for a little while, Ling would use the chance to break the scale in Wanwan." Zilong replied.

"But... even if we do distract him... it all depends on Ling if he can successfully land the final blow. If not..." Baxia added in.

"Yes, I'm aware of it. We've only got one chance at this, and we cannot fail at this." Zilong said. Then, he asked his fellow teammates,

"Are we ready?"

"Zilong! Take that side!" Baxia said, running over to Yu Zhong's right side.

Still, Baxia was skeptical of the plan. "Yu Zhong is wiser than we think. And I know he wont-"

Before he could finish his though, a sharp pain came across his stomach, forcefully pushing him back. Zilong was also affected by this, being flung to the other side of the platform. Chang'e screeched in fright seeing her brother being tossed like that.

Baxia got his balance back and looked at Yu Zhong. However, he saw a different sight.

The Black Dragon, surrounding Yu Zhong, who was still standing still controlling Wanwan. The Dragon stared into Zilong and Baxia's eyes.

Soon, Yu Zhong's voice could be heard. Without turning his head one bit, he said,

"Death to whoever who opposes me."

This is going to be harder than they all thought.
