When Crossbow Meets Blade

Chapter 14

Wanwan's POV

"Hahahahah... the strongest ninja... has arrived!"

Crap... crap, crap crap! He cant be here!

There, standing on the rooftop, was a dark figure, hidden in the shadows. His eyes... were glowing bright red. And his weapon... no doubt..

That's Hanzo.

We all immediately got ready. I activated my crossbows. Ling held onto his blade, tightly as ever. For some reason... there was... immense amount of hatred in his eyes...

Same goes for Hanabi. She had her Higanbana by her side, as she stared angrily at Hanzo. Hayabusa held onto his sword and got ready his shurikens. The Lightborn all got into defensive stance. However, I doubt Fanny can easily glide around. All the houses and trees were all destoyed and cut down.

Despite our intimidating poses, Hanzo just stood there, staring down at us. Then, he let out a laugh, followed by words.

"Hahahah... you think you can defeat me! Stupid! Just ask Hanabi!" he laughed, and stared creepily at Hanabi's direction.

Hanabi seemed to get caught off guard. Her facial expressions tell me that she doesnt want to remember her fight with him. Now I cant tell if she's angry or afraid. Her hands were trembling, as she stood rooted to the ground.

Without hesitation, Ling charged towards Hanzo, leaping on any kind of debris that could bring him up to the rooftop.

"Ling!" I called out to him. Obviously, he didnt listen.

We all immediately spread out, surrounding the building Hanzo was standing on, so that he couldnt escape. Or so we thought...

Ling's POV

I leaped up, my blade ready to slash through this motherfucker's throat. This bastard... will pay!

There in front of me, was a figure. Instinctively, I slashed my blade at it. But it only disappeared into thin air as soon as it came into contact with my blade. If this isnt the real one...

Shit!

Now I was the one standing on the rooftop. I looked down and saw everyone else scattered around. Baxia was tanking for Wanwan, but the distance between them still isnt safe.

Just then, a shadow started to form behind Wanwan. But she didnt seem to notice.

"Wanwan! Behind you!" I shouted as loud as I can as I tried my best to run down.

Right before the shadow could strike, Baxia jumped behind her, taking the damage. Boy, was he unhurt. Expected.

When I got down, everyone was surrounded by shadows. Just like back at the Empire. However, these shadows seemed more... stronger than last time. Their weapons were upgraded too.. This is gonna take a while.

"Launch attack!!" Silvanna announced, the Lightborn squad being the first to react. Fanny couldnt use her cables though, so she ran through the shadows, twirling her dual-blades. Honestly, its pretty funny to watch. But I cant blame her.

Granger was behind Tigreal, shooting at incoming enemies heading towards them. Alucard charged in, slashing at any enemy who got near him.

Hanabi was firing her Petal Barrage, her weapon bouncing off enemies and hitting them continuously. Kagura was teleporting here and there with her umbrella, working her magic and pulling enemies together. Hayabusa was using his ultimate, turning invincible and slashing away.

Meanwhile, Zilong was obviously not caring about his own safety and carelessy diving into the shadow crowd. He is a strong fella, though. So fending off enemies and killing them all at once wasnt a hard job for him. Wanwan was using her Fire Swallow and stunning the shadows, thus activating her ultimate. Good, she can now use it to track Hanzo and possibly kill him with that. After all, he may be hiding in one of these shadows.
