I was handed a glass of water and a piece of bread. I hungrily ate it without even stopping to enjoy the food.
"Audrey." Newt said as if testing it out. "How'd you remember it?"
"I dreamt it but I was with other people and-" I stopped myself not because I wanted to but because my mind stopped me.
"And?" Alby questioned.
I shook my head. "And then I woke up."
"How are you feeling?" Matt asked me.
"Better." I answered truthfully. "But who are you? Why am I here?"
"We don't know why you are here Audrey, we don't know ourselves but this is your home now." Alby told me
Another boy rushed in. "Alby!" He sucked in a breath. "Ben and Minho are back and they request to see you. Ben said to bring Matt because Ben got beat up pretty badly."
Matt and Alby nodded at each other. "We will be right back."
It was just me and Newt.
"Well greenie." Newt said. "You are the first girl in two years."
"Two years?" I questioned. "Is that how long you have all been here?"
"Not all of us. Every month that box you came in brings another greenbean like you." He explains. "Just we have never had a shucking girl."
"Why are you calling me a greenie?" I felt slightly annoyed with the name.
"It's what we call the lucky people who are brought by the box." The sarcasm in his voice lingered. "Welcome to the glade."
