Chapter 29~The Command

My mother, father, sister and neighbors are sitting in a basement. They are giving me to WICKED.

Ava Paige.

"I promise you that Angie will be safe here. We have told you the details to the plan. The Flare will not reach her here or when she enters phase one." Ava spoke. "But since The Flare is destroying many memories of such beauty the world once had to offer. Id like to ask permission to change her first name to Audrey."

My name is Angie Harrison not Audrey.

"WICKED is good."

"Thomas and Teresa, this is Audrey." Ava Paige introduced me.

"Test subject's one has entered the maze's and have started gaining some sense, all though they will brutally confused for another month. Thomas, Teresa and Audrey have gotten the hang of the telepathic gift and are starting more training immediately. Inside ever subjects chip is a happy memory of Audrey who will later attempt a life in the maze until she is killed by Test Subject A37, The Destroyer."

"They are gonna kill us." Paul said.

"It can't be that bad." I shrug. "Death is just a quick second before entering a beautiful harmonic after life."

Newt locked in a room.

"Well done Audrey." She nodded. "You are poisoning the minds of them so they know that WICKED is good and that gives them hope but you can only do this once."

Me going back to visit Newt.

Newt kissing me.

"Audrey have you or have you not been sneaking around with our experiment?"

"Since the Flare outbreak it had turned many of our dearly loved staff bonkers and we recently lost a lot more then planned." She tells us. "So we sent another boy, Newt (the glue) a little earlier then planned. Just by a few days so it won't throw off the phase, we supplied lots of weapons for the boys and girls so they won't be harmed and will be protected." She smiled.

"We can't create a serum to mess with the subjects emotions, so Audrey will be the test to determine what will happen." Ava Paige said. "Audrey you will die, are you okay with this?"

I look back at Thomas and Teresa. "If it means saving the world."

"Audrey you'll be going into the maze in exactly 24 hours."

"Are you sure we are even doing the right thing?"

"Thomas, Teresa and Audrey come with me. Aris, Rachel and Paul please step back."

"Audrey walk away from Thomas and Teresa and stand in front of them." The lady instructed and I did so. "This will be the last time you will be able to contact them with your mind or see them."

How many boys are in the Glade before you and James?

"Oh!" I say before we reach the maze. "How many people are in the Glade?"

"38." Newt says. "Why?"

"Test Subject A37 will be sent to brutally kill Audrey in front of the males to set them off."
