"Stop." Minho pushed me lightly. "I can hear them leaving."

"What do they do in the morning?" I question.

"The slintheads go to a nest I'm guessing." Ben whispers, keeping his hand on the sharpened stick.

"Clear." Minho waved us over and we ran down the long pathway until we turned another corner.

"I think I see him!" I shout but then cover my mouth.

"Shuck it or we all die." Minho snaps.

"Sorry." I mumble feeling ashamed.

I lead the way to wear I thought I saw a male figure striding down the maze.

"I'll check down this way." I arrange. "We are close to four, we will meet back there."

"Be careful Audrey." Ben squeezed my shoulder as he turned on his heel and went the other way.

"I'll see you in four." Minho hugged me and went to opposite way.

I placed my hair into a bun before sprinting down the long path. I turn so many corners that I lose count.

Then I see him.

"Hey!" I yell.

He turns over to me, his body seems fine and he hasn't been stung. Thank God.

"James come here!" I ordered.

His eyes kept on me as he slowly moved backwards. "No."

"It isn't safe here! If you want to be a runner we can make you one when we get back." I semi-lie.

"No." He shakes his head.

"Please James, everyone is worried that you are dead but you aren't." I plead. "So let's head back before we both are legitimately dead."

"Audrey." He spoke.

"What?" Then I feel it's breath against me skin. I whip around and see the beast in its flesh and mentally scream. I take off in James' direction and grab his hand and drag him down the maze. "You shucking slinthead! What the hell is wrong with you? I could of died! We can both still die!"

We turn another corner before James trips and I go back and help him up. "Come on James!" I offer him my hand and he takes it but pulls me down with him and the griever comes closer. "James are you trying to get us shucking killed?"

I was furious.

The griever snarled at us but then turned around as the Suns radiance took over the maze. "Let's go to four before another one comes down this way."

James just nodded.

As we strode down the maze I recalled the small remembrance of the dream I had last night. I squint my eyes trying to remember but I couldn't find anything until I see another griever making its way 'home'.

"Griever." I mumble.

"What?"

"Griever venom." I mumble again. "The changing, it all adds up."

"Excuse me?" James asks completely startled.

"Nothing."
