I grabbed my bag and walked out of the room as the professor dismissed the class. Mabilis akong naglakad para makalabas na ng campus at makapag-lunch doon sa lagi kong kinakainan na eatery. Mura na kasi, masarap pa.

I was walking on the hallway when I bumped onto Silverio. Malaki ang ngisi nito kaagad sa 'kin nang makita ako.

"Katatapos lang din ng klase mo?" He asked while walking beside me.

"Yep, magla-lunch na ako."

"Ayos, then let's grab lunch together," he smiled and continued from walking.

Ganoon naman palagi si Silverio. Isang beses lang akong naka-usap at humingi ng pabor, akala mo sobrang close na namin. At dahil dakilang loner siya kagaya ko, sa akin na siya palaging sumasabay pati sa pag-lunch. Minsan kapag nauuna 'yung dismissal niya, hinihintay pa niya ako sa labas ng classroom kaya maraming nag-aakala na boyfriend ko siya.

We were talking as we headed outside the campus. Tumigil nga lang kami nang sabay ni Silverio nang sinalubong kami ni Keiko. She was all smiles when she walked toward me. Humalik pa ito sa pisngi ko bago humarap sa kasama ko.

"Sorry to interrupt your little bubble with your inamorato, Maeve," she smiled at him. Wala namang naging reaksyon si Silverio at hindi man lang pinansin si Keiko. "Are you free this weekend?" She faced me, holding my hand with gentleness.

"Exams na next week, Keiko. Magre-review ako buong weekend," sagot ko.

"That's great!" She giggled. "Our sisters were suggesting if you can review us. You know... they kinda miss you because you barely attend our meetings. Masyado ka na kasing busy," she added, looking at Silverio with full of malice in her eyes.

"I don't think I can make it. Besides, panigurado'y sa inuman lang mauuwi ang lahat. You have my number naman... just text me if you have questions."

She chuckled. "Oh, Maeve! That's so harsh, huh? Hindi ka na ba mapipilit?"

"Alam mo namang may scholarships akong inaalagaan," humigpit ang hawak ko sa straps ng aking bag. Silverio was now looking at me---with his face showing too much irritation.

"The soro has lots of connections so don't worry about it," I tilted my head as a sign of protest. Tumawa si Keiko at hindi pinansin ang naging reaksyon ko. "But if I can't make you come... that's okay. Just another favor, please?"

Tumango ako. "Okay, what is it?"

"Can you make my lab? Deadline na kasi this Friday and I can't do it. My parents will be attending a business party and I need to come with them. And tonight, I can't, too. It's Jeya's party so I'm sure that you won't come. Gawin mo na lang, okay? I'll send the payment to you. I can double it since it's rush!"

I sighed in defeat. "Okay, just send it to me."

"You're the best, Maeve! Hindi sayang 'yung allowance na natatanggap mo from our soro."

Ngumiti ako nang mapakla.

"I gotta go na. Have fun!" She smirked and kissed me on my cheek before walking away.

Nagkibit-balikat ako at naglakad na muli. Silverio was silent for quite some time before he burst into his frustration. He faced me with his confused look.

"What the hell was that?" He asked unbelievably.

"Ano?"

"Seriously? Pumapayag kang ginagano'n? Maeve, this isn't the first time that I've seen that pero the fuck? They're abusing you!"
