"I miss Daddy already," EJ said and slumped on the couch after his last class for the day. Nakanguso ito nang tumingin sa akin at akala mo'y nagmamakaawa.

"He'll be home later. Nakita mo naman Daddy mo kaninang umaga," tawa ko at ginulo ang kanyang buhok. Mas lalong humaba ang nguso nito at nagpaawa ng mukha. "Here, tawagan mo kung sasagot. But I bet he's busy with his work."

I dialed Vance's number and gave the phone to Ezekiel. Binigyan ako ng malaking ngiti nito at masayang umupo sa couch habang nilalagay sa tainga ang cellphone. After a few rings, his face lightened up. Sumagot sa tawag si Vance at ngayon ay kausap na niya.

"I miss you, Daddy," he said in a sad voice. Tumayo ako at inayos ang mga laruang ikinalat niya at hinayaan silang mag-usap. "Mommy," he called.

"Yes, baby?"

"Daddy wants to talk to you, po."

My brows furrowed as I got the phone from his hand. Tiningnan ko pa ang screen bago ito sinagot. "Hello?"

"I told Ezekiel to visit me in my office," he said. "You can wait here for the meantime. Maaga na lang ako uuwi para makalibot pa tayo mamaya. Is that okay with you?"

His voice was laced with gentleness as he spoke to me. Wala sa sariling napangiti ako roon.

"Uh, ayos lang kahit hindi na. Ezekiel will just disturb you. Sasabihan ko na lang 'yung bata na hintayin ka."

"Hey, my son will never be a disturbance... even you. That's okay, Maeve. Besides, I already miss you both."

"Okay."

"Hmm, should I send off a drive to fetch you?"

I laughed. "No, Vance. I can drive."

"Alright, tell me when you're near so I can send off my secretary to fetch you in the lobby."

"Okay, see you in a bit," I said and ended the call.

Ezekiel was hyper when I told him that I agreed with the idea of visiting his Dad in his office. Mabilis itong nag-ayos at nagpakabait habang hinihintay ako. When we were all set, I put him at the backseat before heading off to the Ravana Ventures.

I was kind of nervous when we reached the building. I did what Vance told me and a valet was already waiting for us. Nasa labas na rin ang isang babaeng may malaking ngiti at sumalubong sa amin. Pakiramdam ko ay masyadong mae-eskandalo ang mga empleyado kapag nakita kami pero sa tingin ko ay dahil ngayon pa lang ulit nakabalik si Vance, wala pa silang kaalam-alam na may anak na ito.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Ravana. This way, po," she smiled and led the way for us. Ilang beses itong sumulyap kay Ezekiel at halos hindi na maiwan ng ngiti ang kanyang labi.

Ezekiel was pretty in awe as he roamed his eyes around. Hawak-hawak ng maliit na kamay nito ang sa akin at hindi bumibitaw.

"Ako po pala si Carol, Engr. Ravana's secretary," pagpapakilala niya.

"Nice to meet you, Carol. I am Maeve de la Viña," I smiled. I saw her eyes widened a bit.

"Uh, I'm sorry, Miss de la Viña," she smiled awkwardly.

"It's okay, no worries."

Tumikhim ito at nagbaba ng tingin kay Ezekiel. "Hello, baby. What is your name?"

"I'm Ezekiel Jensen Ravana, po."

"Oh!" she chuckled nervously. "You really look like your father."

"Thank you, po."

As the lift goes up, it halted on a particular floor and my eyes widened in shock when I saw the girl who was waiting. It looked like she was mirroring the same expression that I was giving her. Kung hindi pa nagsalita si Carol ay hindi gagalaw si Zhavia at papasok sa loob.
