ENTRY #22 - Gamble
Maaga ako nagising kinabukasan dahil sa tawag ni Patrick sakin.
He's asking me what happened last night at bakit bigla nalang akong nawala nang hindi man lang nagsasabi sa kanya. He said I made him worried. I told him how sorry I am for making him worried and I'll just make it up to him.
"Let's have dinner nalang later, Pat, okay? My treat! I'm so sorry. I'll see you later, okay?" Huling sabi ko bago naputol ang linya.
Bago ko pa maibaba ang phone ko at muli na namang tumunog ito. I saw Jacob's name flashed on my screen. Mabilis ko itong sinagot.
"Hello, Jacob. Is there any update? Hmm.. Okay magkita tayo. I wanna know the details."
Mabilis kong tinapos ang tawag at nag-asikaso na. I badly need to make a move. Hindi na ako pwedeng magsayang ng oras. Patrick's here. And I'm sure anytime soon uuwi na din sila mom, dad and April dito. I need to accomplish my plan as soon as possible bago pa sila makauwi dito.
Almost 10am ng magkita kami ni Jacob sa isang coffee shop. Nagpahatid ako kay Liam doon. Naroon na siya ng dumating ako. I ordered Liam to go somewhere else and I'll just call him once I'm done here. He just gave me a stern look then left without a word.
I rolled my eyes while looking at him walk away.
Cold as ice. Tsk. Saan ba nakuha ni dad 'to? Kainis.
Matagal tagal ang naging usapan namin ni Jacob. He's really good in doing his job. Marami akong nalaman na mga kasamaan ni Nathan na mas lalong nagpasidhi ng galit ko sa kanya.
Jacob explained every single document he got while investigating Nathan that we might use against him.
I smiled to myself. This bastard will fall down sooner o later.
Wala na si Jacob sa harap ko pero nanatili parin akong nakatitig sa mga dokumentong nasa harap ko. Everything speaks for my victory pero diko maiwasang matakot sa mga nalaman ko.
I have all the evidence to indict him but what if... what if he's the one who attacked me? And what if revealing everything about him won't be the best solution and he might get back at me or worst even to my family?
He's a drug lord. And a drug addict for Pete's sake!
"Hindi siya madaling kalabanin, Xhy. He's a drug addict. He also sell drugs to make money dahil baon na baon na siya sa utang dahil sa mga bisyo niya. Lalong lalo na sa sugal at drugs. His business were also failing that's why he needs to close this deal with a foreigh investor to keep his business and to support his drug and gambling habits. Halos hindi niya na rin mapa-sweldo ng tama ang mga tauhan niya dahil nalulugi na ang negosyo niya. But they can't leave. Because he threatened them that once they leave, he'll go after them and their families. So think about this thoroughly, Xhy. Hindi basta bastang kalaban si Nathan Elisalde. We don't know if he's also the one who tried to kill you before. We don't know his capabilities when he's under the influence of drugs."
I snapped out from my deep thoughts when my phone rang. Xander's name flashed on the screen. Ano na naman kayang kailangan nito?
I rolled my eyes before I answered. He's calling me again as if walang nangyari kagabi. "What?" Medyo mataray na bungad ko sa kanya.
"Where are you?"
"Why do you care?" I said with full of sarcasm.
"Just answer the damn question, Isay." Malamig na turan niya.
I rolled my eyes again. This man's really bossy. "Fine. Tss. I'm at home. Why?" I lied. Of course alangan sabihin ko na nakipag kita ako kay Jacob at nagpapa-investigate ako kay about kay Nathan di'ba?
