Chapter 21

Rouge had followed the tracks of the big machine until he finally found it. The bat flew under the machine and grabbed a piece of metal. Time passed and soon she saw the entrance to a large tunnel, so Rouge remembered the story Umbra told her. She knew that inside was the place where the hedgehog was raised. When the machine stopped, already at the end of the tunnel, Rouge waited. She knew she couldn't handle those robots alone.

Rouge then saw Airam and his robots leave, carrying the hedgehogs, who were passed out. The bat followed them, while remaining hidden. Airam entered one room, while the robots took their prisoners to another. The bat was unsure who to follow. But he chose to go after the hedgehogs. They were each placed in separate cells. Shadow was removed from the structure where he was held. The crocodile robot, which was the one who removed it, and took the Chaos Emerald, which had fallen to the ground with the black hedgehog. Him left the room and the other robots were immobile, facing the cells, as if they were keeping guard.

Knowing the location of the hedgehogs and seeing how there would be no way to rescue them now. Rouge decided to go back and take the Chao Emerald from the crocodile robot and go after Airam. The bat followed him into a room but there was also Airam and other thing thing that shocked her. Inside the same room was Sonic. He was inside a type of sphere, while running without stopping and without leaving the same place. The sphere emitted blue rays. Rouge also noticed that the blue hedgehog was also thinner. The bat soon understood that the hedgehog was being used as a type of energy generator.

The crocodile robot handed the Chaos Emerald to Airam, and then left the room.

Meanwhile, Rubis had arrived at the border of the Great Forest. The force field prevented her from entering, but she was soon received by Buns, in his great armor, and Omega, who was already operational, again, thanks to dr. Ovi. They both thought she was Rouge. Buns wanted to attack her, but Omega stopped her.

Rubis then explained why he was there. Omega and Buns took her to dr. Ovi who received it. And the whole story about Team Dark coming into this world, the truth about Scourge, the multiverse, everything was told. It was too much information, all at once, for the bat to process. Rubis then retired to a balcony in the Hospital Tower, she wanted to be alone for a while.
A while later, the trio went to the veranda, they found the bat kneeling, with both hands touching each other, and with closed eyes. She seemed to be whispering something.

Buns approached Rubis. "What are you doing?"

"Praying. It's the least I can do right now."

"I don't understand this activity that you, the organisms, do." Omega commented.

"Understandable." Dr. Ovi replied. "Faith is something that cannot be explained. Although I, like you, don't understand it either. I know it is important to many. It gives them security."

"Look ... I'm sorry I almost attacked you. I have to end this bad habit of mine."

"It's all right. The only thing that worries me now is Umbra and this Shadow that you talked about ... and Rouge."

"Believe her." Omega spoke.

Rubis looked at the big red robot. "Why would she team up with Scourge?"

"We don 't know yet."

"Do not worry. We are here to solve this. " A voice that was familiar to everyone was heard.
Everyone turned in the direction the voice came from. It was Sonic. And he was accompanied by two Zone Cops.
