Rouge was more distressed, because now the bat had another hedgehog to rescue. She continued her vigil, above the tallest structure in the room. But there was also someone else in the room. Next to Airam was Tynna. Rouge was more confused and irritated now, traitors kept coming, one after the other.
Airam then delivered Shadow's Chaos Emerald to the thylacine. "You can leave now, Tynna. There is something I need to do, alone."
"It's okay, my lady." With that the thylacine withdrew from the room.
"I know you are there. You can go down."
The bat clenched its fist in frustration at having let itself be discovered.
"You don't have to sneak in. I invited you, didn't I?" Airam turned and looked at where Rouge was hiding. "Don't make me get you down."
Rouge decided to do as he was suggested. She spread her wings and went to the ground. She looked at the blond-haired woman.
"Scourge told me that you were a spy and a thief. Don't feel bad, because I found you. I am beyond normal human."
"I am still a thief." The bat smiled. "But I have two questions for you."
"Do it."
"For someone over 50, you are well maintained. What is your secret, dear?"
"Well... you are my guest. I'll tell you. Number 9 has already advanced you..."
"And the second question: why shouldn't I beat you up here and now?" The bat was serious now, again.
Airam looked apathetic. "Answering your first question..."
Rouge flew towards Airam and turned his body to hit him, but the haired woman managed to hold the bat's. Except for her arm, her body remained motionless. Rouge was startled by this.
"How dowdy. Attack whoever invited you to her house. " She hurled Rouge away. The bat hit its back against the wall, eventually breaking one of its wings. Rouge held his cry of pain and put his hand on the broken wing."Now, answering your first question. After they arrested my grandfather, and closed this base, which he called DEN, I was welcomed. In everyone's eyes I was just an innocent child. I just had to keep posing as a poor innocent child. Many scientists tried to find a cure for my disease, meanwhile, they brought me the means to stay alive until then. But there was no success in the search for a cure. Then one day, an alternative was suggested. Artificial organs."
Rouge got to his feet.
"The surgery was a success, I didn't need to walk around, carrying a lot of life support with me. I was never really healed. But he could live like a normal human. Then one day, an idea came to me. Why not more?"
"She's just like Eggman. A talkative. They both have the same inflated ego. " Rouge thought to herself. The bat looked around the room, looking for something to help it free the blue hedgehog.
"In the beginning I needed the help of doctors, my family's money helped to convince them to do these surgeries, since they could not put on ... you know, oath, good conduct, blahblahblah. Then came the robotic prostheses, after some robotization, I can do it myself. I'm always updating my body."
Airam then took off his coat and shirt, revealing his body. Rouge was startled to see him. Airam's body was like a doll. No navel, no nipples. Joints divisions. One of his arms, which was not wrapped in artificial skin, was possible to see a series of wires and cables. She opened a big one, opened her eyes wide and started laughing. "This is another one for humans. I am the way. And you will spread that message."
"Was that the invitation for that?" Rouge was terrified, but she tried not to show it.
Airam laughed. "I know you know that other black hedgehog, more than that Scourge cheater. Number 9 was supposed to be unique, so where did that other one come from?"
